Help wanted! Is this high pitch noise I'm hearing from the front of the engine normal at idle and at engine shutdown? Just noticed it with the hood up and hadn't heard it before. (CT5 Blackwing with LT4). Dealer brushed it off saying it was just vacuum from the intake.

That does not sound normal. If anything it sounds like a bad vacuum leak.

I agree it does not sound normal. No codes on dash and car idles and runs smooth.

Not normal. Take it back or take it to a different dealer to investigate.

That's the plan. It seems to be coming from the supercharger pulley area so I wonder if it could be the snout bearing going bad. I mainly wanted to verify that it was indeed not normal. Hopefully they just replace the supercharger.

To me it sounds like the supercharger bypass valve is failing or the vacuum line hooked to it is leaking or something. It is as if the supercharger is just barely starting to create some boost pressure because the bypass valve is closing instead of staying open until the throttle is pressed.
