CT5-V Corsa cat-back exhaust installation tips & pointers, along with my thoughts/review (short video included)

CT5-V Model
Install went good. Took about 4 hours with a lift. An hour of that was aligning the tips. What a royal pain in the ass.

Follow these and Corsa’s instructions. Was super mindful of the valve part. Still got a damn check engine light. 😡 Gonna try to clear it hopefully.

This exhaust is ROWDY!! The videos don’t do it justice. Night and day difference. It’s obnoxiously awesome when you want it and quiet as a church mouse when you don’t. Besides for the stupid tips I couldn’t be happier!! Now off to hopefully solve this CEL.

Can't believe the cel! That's crazy that it still happened, hopefully it is an easy fix. I figured doing it exactly like I did would ensure no issues.

No idea. I was super mindful of it. Also; I didn’t notice the CEL right away. Not until the next day. The light is kinda hidden behind the steering wheel.

This exhaust sounds amazing, good stuff!

I want to get a better video of it sometime soon, it's way better in person. I wish I had a really good microphone setup to record it.

I have Nick's BW now and I must be getting old because the Corsa catback is too much noise for me. If there is someone in NorCal with OEM cat back that wants to work out a trade/sale please PM me. I have a truck and can take care of the transport.

The Corsa is rowdy AF....but I love it for now. However, with the valves closed, its as or more quiet then stock, IMO. Ain't nobody got time for that closed valve stuff...

@jbawden - curious what you think about that - is it quieter at stock when valves are closed? And you're selling because the open settings are too loud for your taste?

As Nick mentioned in his write up, even in tour mode the valves open depending on throttle position. My daily mode is "sport" and for me the volume is just too much. It's not a bad sound, its amazing, but it's definitely not a sleeper anymore. If you're one that is disappointed that you can't hear the exhaust, man alive this Corsa system will solve that problem!

I'm in my mid-50's and as such I try to be aware of my "lane" and this feels like something 30 year old me would be into. I'm not opposed to getting a car to sound they way I want but its just in this case the OEM exhaust is perfect to my ears...and get off my lawn!!

I saw a white 5BW in Indianapolis this weekend with the Corsa exhaust (I could see the mufflers) and, from my perspective, it sounded freaking fantastic as he flew past me and made a right turn. Even my friends with me (we were there for the 500) said wow that sounds great.

I gotta tell you, much respect to the way you and Nick conducted that deal. I was following in the thread and have tremendous respect for a clean drama free car deal amongst two car folks. Drama free at least from anyone elses POV. Well done and best of luck on your new BW.

Yea it was totally drama free other than an initial dealer misunderstanding (for his Audi) but otherwise it was all good. Nick is a good dude and I think this place is largely made up of similar folk. Like I said in the other thread, it was one of those opportunity doors that was personally opened by the BW gods themselves, I had to walk through, lol.

I had "My mode" setup for "engine sound" to the lowest setting. When in My Mode, it was indeed quieter than stock. Sorry to hear you want to change, was hoping it was going to be just right.

It's all good bud! It's just one of those minor personal preference deals.

Not to hyjack the thread, but I guess it is related with an informal poll: Would it increase or decrease the appeal of my original BW if I put the Corsa on it? Not which would bring more money necessarily, rather which would cast a wider net of interest?

I wouldn't think it would lessen the value
