Mustangs are all good - for what they are - and can be great fun. So the Dark Horse - with full R compound and larger tires along with perhaps a slight HP and gearing edge gives it the win - well Kudos for that.
However - as we all know - there is more to a good performance car than flat out...
Agreed on all counts. I have a very nice LSD, traction delete (first thing I do after starting the car) and gobs of suspension upgrades. Its a little beast and always puts a smile on my face (except at times in the rain). I got so spoiled with my B5 Audi S4...its amazing I never got in a serious...
I never considered a Type-S (or Civic Type-R) due to FWD pure and simple. But I think they are both great drivers/performance cars. I already have a very capable GTI and in many ways thought they'd be too similar...same with the Golf-R. What I really wanted was a Boxster or Caymen but the wife...
This is my feeling as well. Using the clutch I can always precisely control the car in any situation (without having to ride the brakes). I can creep along at the slowest of speeds....or launch when necessary. Using clutch and shifter always keeps me more engaged as a driver,,,,more aware....and...
Can't comment on the JB4 but I've been very happy with the extra oomph of the TapOut Tuning larger MAF intake (looks great too) and ported throttle body. Check out their site and claims for increased HP....which I can at least confirm via seat of the pants. Its (I hope) less of a warranty...
Yes its a 4 dr 6 speed MT. What a great - near perfect car. Compared to the standard 330i the ZHP package is more than just a sum of its parts. While its only 10hp? more it feels (and I think is) much quicker...it revs higher and quicker, steering and brakes are better. Its also lowered compared...
So true and I often find myself giving such advice to folks who express a desire for the highest performance car (on paper) with a prestige nameplate and such. I try to advise them to really consider how they get the most joy and satisfaction from a car and driving and maybe there are some...
I fully get it (even WRT my CT 4 V BW)....still it is a very fun car...just not the most fun car I've ever had (or still have). My BMW 330i ZHP has very similar performance to the US spec E36 M3 and its great fun to wail on even now. To some degree because its a lighter weight car with (great)...
Thats a very commendable and impressive rank. I know it often sounds cliche but I thank you for your service. Most folks outside the military probably don't appreciate what a big deal that is and what a superstar you were and are. I get it because of a special experience I had in my career...
At one point for several years early in my career I worked as an investigator on behalf of various Congressional committees. At one point in the mid 1980s I worked with postal inspectors (and later with EPA federal enforcement folks) where I could stop cargo planes at the airport as they were...
My take is to not do the trade. As good as it sounds - and as powerful and capable the M5 is - I think you'd (I mean swoop) would regret you made that trade.
Seems like (many of us) you value fun factor....and the BMW will not likely be as fun as the BW in ways that you will get on a daily...
