Great color combo....Green with the bronze wheels. You will really enjoy the V Academy.
My wife made me promise to get rid of my MK VI GTI to get the CT4V BW....well I never said when I'd get rid of it (not for a while I hope)....both are great fun cars to drive...
Way cool clubracer...great fun. Now you need to convince them to do a full review of a CT4 V BW MT.
Quite a car list. How many do you still own? Which are/were your favs?
I'm sort of your opposite (except for perhaps a shared love of cars). I've only owned a handful of cars my whole life. I...
As I was with Mischa on the Ring I've felt that Everyday Driver not doing a Blackwing comparo was long overdue. While this wasn't exactly it I'm glad to see this and that they've at at least some exposure to the CT4V BW and seemed to like it and mostly get it. Here's hoping they do a more full...
Brewski - I think we see it the same way. I drove the GTI out to Wegmans and ran some other errands with it today and drove it 110%+...I thrashed it nearly the whole time and loved every minute of it. If I'd taken the BW - sure I might have mashed it down here and there...but mostly I would have...
I think there is something to this. Cadillac and GM clearly wanted to prove they could compete with BMW & the euros when they started the V program and continued with the Blackwings. I'm not sure if they ever really thought through where they ultimately wanted to go with it....its a niche market...
Thanks for posting. Enjoyed immensely. CT4 V BW acquitted itself well IMO. Surprised it was never passed but seemed a slow day.
Mischa loved the car and for good reason - it did everything well. We here get it and knew it would perform but not everyone yet gets it. Their loss....but Caddy/GM...
I think its mostly due to the linearity of the power delivery from the (already robust) 3.8L V6 and the magic GM has done to practically eliminate turbo lag in shortening charged airflow path etc. One also has to realize its a relatively heavy car. 470 hp in a Miata would be and feel a lot...
Last week - in some heavy traffic in Waldorf area - PG county MD just outside the beltway - I came up on what I thought was a CT5 V BW....turns out it was a late model CTS-V. No pics unfortunately...but it looked great - a grayish color with red accents - was demonstratively very quick and was...
Not to get off topic here but I've become increasingly concerned about AI and the damned if you do damned if you don't bind we're in. There was an informed guy on Bill Maher's show last Friday describing some of the numerous instances of AI replicating and hiding itself to avoid...
My eyes aren't so good so when I saw a gorgeous blue 5 V the other day I thought Blackwing...until I got close enough to see the AWD badge on the back....still very nice...
I've actually been recommending the AWD 5 V to someone interested in an AWD vehicle that can carry at least 4. He really...
I've on occasion experienced a bit of rev hang on deceleration to a stop...but more often than not - when I check - its my fat right foot still partially pressed on the gas peddle...
MT - only choice for me. Otherwise might have been driving an RS3 instead (but glad for the caddy in most every way). I've always had MT cars and the additional driving engagement and control make driving fun for me. Wife drives MT as well so no restriction.
I've only ever once purchased an...
Really good question and I've been having similar thoughts. I have the Tapout larger MAF and ported throttle body. If their claims are accurate I;m conceivably making 70-80+ hp at redline over stock. Not sure what the JB4 maps give you - more certainly.... but the larger MAF/throttle body seems...
I'm just a tad under 6 ft (possibly shrinking as I get older) but I can drive reasonably comfortably pulling my seat up enough to let a decent (not too large) passenger to sit comfortably behind me. Fine for short to medium length trips but I wouldn't want to do it for longer trips - both for my...
I agree that the very tight rear seat area is less than ideal and occasionally its an issue. We're used to small cars and less than ideal room in the back but it confounds me just how small it is even compared to our BMW 3 series and GTI.
The GTI - which benefits from being FWD has the most...
