2026 ct5 v blackwing
Greetings
I spec'd a specific build I was dead set on November 5th 2025. When to my local dealership as instructed with the order # and requested and allocation in person. Somethime in March I received a call and was approved. I went to the dealership to verify the order and triple check the build making sure everything was perfect. Built in May. Delivered june 4th. Upon looking over the delivery pic I immediately knew something is wrong. It has the polished grafite wheels. I spec'd black satin finish for the extra 600 to match the black raven paint. I don't like chrome. I look over everything else and it's as order but on the build sheet/widow sticker it says polished grafite wheels. Idk how or why this was changed. Idk why I was never informed at any time between March and june 4th. And now the dealer says there's nothing he can do. I can ither accept it or refuse. Apparently the black satin wheels are unavailable for one. And two I would have to pay full cost and keep the polished. And finally the thing I'm most pissed off about is if I did get the rims. The car would no longer be manufacturer spec according to the build sheet.
Any advice? Do I really need to refuse and reorder another fking car to get it right from the fking factory as originally order. Not even a fking rain check?

No, the point of buying this was the specific spec factory and KEEP it factory. This is not the factory spec I ordered and was approved for.

I get that; I would be furious. But it doesn't appear that is going to happen unless you want to go back to end of the line again. Based off my experience dealing with Cadillac on the carbon backed driver seat in my 4V that creaks excessively, I doubt you are going to get any help trying to escalate to manufacturer.

What do you mean you have to pay full cost to keep the polished? Did you pay for the black wheels that you are not getting?
I assume you didn't pay for them. It sucks, but unfortunately, I don't think there is anything you can do with this. If you are set on black OEM wheels, you would need to buy them in the used (or new) market at a significantly higher price and sell your polished ones. Perhaps this exchange would not cost that much. But, yes, the car would not match the build sheet exactly.....That would not bother me.

I'm curious with this sentence that I have high lighted above. Are you saying Cadillac does not have any of these wheels to put on new orders or that they are not available to order through their parts departments. Sometimes I have seen that if a part is out of stock they build the car with what they have. The carbon seat backs were a example, Cadillac did not have any for a while so they built many Blackwings with suede/cloth seat backs. They then gave the buyer a credit for the missing carbon seat backs on the window sticker. In your case, if and its a big if, they do not have any of the black wheels available anywhere, then they installed the standard wheel and did not charge you for the black wheels.

Correct. They must not have had any to put on as they ran out, and they are out of stock on the parts side. Said could take 6 to 8 months to get them in. I was also never informed. This is what the dealer told me is what "most likely" happened. I just don't see how in the 90 days from approved to rolling off the line it changed and I was not informed. If they where out of stock why did the build get approved?

If the RPO for the black wheels is on your confirmed order, they have to make it right with no expense to you. If the RPO somehow got switched (and you have the paperwork to prove it), they have to answer why and still make it right. If the black wheels are really not available right now, you can have them swapped out when they are.

Unless they have made a recent change, those wheels shouldn't be "chrome" as you state - it is a beautiful machined silver finish. They look superb with Black Raven (says me, who owns a Black Raven 5BW with those same wheels and has gotten many compliments about the wheels).

I can understand your frustration with not getting exactly what you ordered but maybe Cadillac and/or the dealership can give you some sort of good will consideration (i.e. credit off the purchase price or the correct wheels when available etc). I personally wouldn't lose much sleep over this. You will love driving the car no matter what wheels are on it.

Call GM and have dealer escalate as well. If you paid for optional rims and they are on the sticker - they can just order a set and swap the tires. Buy shiny set off the dealer for cost and use for snow set. It's a solvable problem. Dealer should escalate the order.

OP is expecting a lot from GM. Set expectations lower and happiness will increase. I can’t wait to see the posts when the real problems begin.

I think what he is saying is that the black wheels are not on the build sheet nor the window sticker. Thus I believe that they do not have them right now and did not charge him for them. Bummer for sure, but fixable in the future when they get more black wheels in stock. (not cheap). Probably be able to find some take-offs on here for sale too.

Maybe find a person that has what you want and exchange yours for his.
