Wondering if we can tub the inner wheel well to get a 355 or 375 tire on the car.

Tire compound beats tire width any day. Going with a 305 or 315 drag radial is going to give you better traction than a 355 street tire. That being said, once you start tubbing the rear end, you are going to throw handling out the window and turn the car into a drag car.Yeah, but that is on a track on drag radials on a fully prepped surface.
I want better traction on UHP tires on the street since grandma Edna in her used $50k Plaid won't be burning out to get her tires hot for that 1.8 second 0-60 launch
Just want more daily usable traction on non drag radials (specifically since they tried to kill me since I had the gall to try and turn above 120 on the fwy so I'm never going back to them).

She is absolutely outstanding for sure, but perfect is in the eye of the beholder. I need a bit more power, and some wheels, and a new hood for her to be perfect to me.I can only ask "why" ? The only thing I have done and probably will ever do to my BW is tint the windows and add PPF. She is perfect , just the way she came off the showroom floor !
I guess the only choice is going to a AWD microwave thenThere is no such thing as traction when you are on the street. Anything north of 500-600hp you will be spinning to some degree![]()
Never!!! Fight the good fight, brother!!I guess the only choice is going to a AWD microwave then![]()
Don't hate on EVs, once you own it will change you. Ive had 3 Tesla's one of them being a Model X Plaid and currently have a 2025 Hummer EV 3x. EVs have their place and a real blast to drive.I guess the only choice is going to a AWD microwave then![]()
I was an early EV adopter and run the world loudest EV audio build with 400 volt amplifiers. No hate here, just sadness that this car seems to have performance limits due to traction issues on the street.Don't hate on EVs, once you own it will change you. Well, in fairness, AWD changes everything when it comes to traction and the Tesla Model S Plaid is the best bang for the buck vehicle on the planet off the showroom floor. Any RWD vehicle with power is going to struggle with traction on the street.I was an early EV adopter and run the world loudest EV audio build with 400 volt amplifiers. The Air Sapphire can hit 1.8 0-60 with the new tires on it. I've spent almost $200k in this build and could get a used plaid for quarter price that would beat it. Just sadness![]()
And that’s what makes it so fun!Any RWD vehicle with power is going to struggle with traction on the street.
Not to me, spinning isn't winning. While its certainly possible to help overcome the traction issues with drag radials and drag suspension, etc, it starts to take away from what was an all-around sports car. I find that somewhere around 650-700whp is about the limit in these cars on street tires that you can actually enjoy without having to heavily invest into turning it into a drag car.And that’s what makes it so fun!
