2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing
Anyone using one? Made your own?? I usually like putting one on any direct injected car right away. Any pointers will be appreciated 👍

I took an Elite catchcan from my CTS Vsport LF3 and use it for my Backwing now. I am capturing about 3.5 ounces every 1700 miles.

Yeah. I installed the Elite Engineering LT4 catch can. It was working great.... until valet totalled my car. DM me if you need any help.

Was this the video that went all over the interwebs?

Hope you sued the dirtbag or his employer. Don

I have both the LMP CC and Might Mouse CC.

The former has yet to trap any oil blow-by. The latter was on for ~1,000 miles and trapped some blow-by.

Both are terrible designs. I like David a lot, but his catch cans are awful.
Can you elaborate on why you think the designs are bad?

I don't know who David is...

A good catch can requires a well-designed cyclonic separation unit, not just a coalescing filter. It also requires an anti-siphon tube and/or baffle system. Catch cans should never be configured to vent to atmosphere. On forced induction engines, two catch cans are required with individual check valves.

David is MightyMouse.

For some reason, I'm not able to post as normal so I'll do a workaround.

My other car is a Kia Stinger GT1, a twin turbo car. I got catch cans from a relatively near Kia dealer, whose service manager had a hopped up but small displacement engine.

Mine has worked well. I rarely get more than a spoonful of oil. Don

Don- I'd be interested in your thoughts between the Stinger and the 4BW.

I'd prefer a true AOS like I had on my WRX, but the off-the-shelf options are limited for the LF4.

The MM CC has a check valve, not sure if the LMP has one. I'm not concerned about the VTA, unless I notice oil residue near the cans. Otherwise, they perform the same as recirculation cans.

MM offers a recirculation top, and a cyclonic insert. Since I was the first CT4-V BW (that I know of) to install this CC, I just went for the standard configuration.

I'm not sure that all FI require two CCs. As you can see in my signature, I've had my fair share of FI vehicles and only one had a two can system (Stinger GT2). Even then, one of those cans was always bone dry.

I can answer this as well since I traded in my Stinger GT2 for the baby Blackwing.

They are completely different animals. My Stinger was AWD, so it was much more forgiving in corners. While Kia does provide a ton of features for the low cost, the BW has more refined qualities, e.g., suspension, seat massager, aluminum underpinnings, air directing vents and vanes, PDR. The BW was built with the track in mind whereas the Stinger is a touring car with decent power and response, but needs help if track days are expected. And, a Tremec 6060...well, that alone is a feature not possible with the Korean car.

I do miss my birds-eye view camera and sunglasses holder from the Stinger. Otherwise, the BW is miles ahead of the Kia.

I really like both of them, the Stinger was just a bit over half the price of the Blackwing so it's certainly the better buy financially.

The Blackwing does outperform the Stinger and surprisingly, though the Stinger does get good mileage the Blackwing does better. We make frequent trips into San Antonio mostly down hill and the Blackwing gets almost 32mpg running at 72 on I10!

Though the Stingers interior is fine, the Blackwings is much fancier.

Fortunately, both cars have excellent A/C something we really need in central TX.

I agree with Stiletotto's comments though his is a 4WD.

Digressing, thanks for your service Stiletto, I'm retired Navy.

Thanks for yours! I am also retired (2020).

What are the chances a couple of Sailors having the same cars back to back? lol!!
