Looking for someone that has a stock muffler that would be willing to ship it to me. I'd cover the shipping costs. From the outside it is clear that there are two pathways inside the muffler, one that is loud and one that is quiet. The valve is a 5 step valve on BW so the loud path can be incrementally opened and closed, which is a bit unique as most valved exhaust cars are either open or shut. I love the stock sound and want to keep the stock muffler for aero purposes as I track often at high speed, but it'd be nice if it would be louder. It sounds great with the back seat down and windows down and is reasonably loud when you're outside the car, but there is just so much sound deadening that track mode is not as loud as desired inside. I also have 2 car seats in the back usually, so folding the back seat down is reserved for only when I'm on track. Overriding some of the pumped in fake blender noise with more actual noise would be a plus for me as well.
On camaro going aftermarket exhaust is an issue as the rear bumper essentially becomes a parachute if you replace the stock muffler with something else. There is a company out there that makes various plates for different aftermarket exhausts on camaro to fix this aero problem (The FIRST solution to SOLVE your Camaro's Rear Bumper Parachute Effect — griffin-motorsports.com), but nothing for blackwing. I'd like to get my hands on a stock muffler to cut open to see if there is something that can be modified internally to make the loud path even louder or potentially even just straight pipes. The AWE catback essentially is just straight pipes on the loud side path and a lot of people love it. I'd certainly share my findings with everyone and perhaps this could be a way for people to get a better/louder exhaust for a much lower price than corsa/awe/etc.
