What's wrong with this picture?

Yes, they are 10's and 11's, but looking closely there's something else a bit odd.

OK, now I understand the offset difference, but that's not it.

I happened to see it instantly and asked why? Clue - has to do with weight.

Ah, the 11" is lighter than the 10"

I even work in engineering, with the worst reading comprehension.

Bingo!

I asked why and was told, "you said you were buying these for track driving, so we beefed up the strength of the front wheels".

Oopps!! This one was real scary. There was a moment there I didn't think I was getting it back under control. Look how far the wheel is turned. I wish there was someone behind me to have filmed it.

That'll wake you up for sure!
I had an experience at the end of the straightaway at The Ridge. I did a couple of warm up laps and after hitting 160 at the end of the straight realized my tires still weren't warm as the car wouldn't turn. My only off in 20 years of track experiences (maybe I'll post it here at some point)

Nice save!
I've watched it over and over trying to figure out the cause.

I think I started my turn in about 20-30 feet too soon and should have started opening up the turn a half second sooner. That and the fact that this was basically the end of the 5th day on those tires and both the inside and outside edges are gone. Time to do some drifting to use up the centers.

This was with OEM wheels and tires. I've now got 3 sessions on the new 295/30 and 285/30 Michelin PS2's - 200TW. They're feeling great and I'm looking forward to pushing harder with them. After this set, the next will be 315/30 and 295/30's. Then, well ....., I'm considering going 315/30 square, but that requires 2 custom made 11" wide forged magnesium front wheels that would be of no use to anyone but me, meaning no resale value. Oh well, whatever if takes man, just give me another needle of that stuff!

What's next? Hmmm, should I install some racing seats?

Wait, what?? Where did you acquire the mg wheel??

Details, man, details!!!

Is that an optical illusion or are the inner wheels a smaller diameter?

I had them custom made. The fronts are 10" wide with a 17mm offset and the rears are 11" wide with a 47mm offset. They'll be getting a set of Rydanz R23 Red Label tires in 295/30 and 315/30 - 200TW.
