Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What were your must have options?

I absolutely did not want a moonroof in my performance car but that's just me. Almost every single one had a moonroof for the most part.

A six-speed manual transmission was a must have for me.

The one step above sportier seats was a plus for me. I really didn't want anything else other than minor things that I could live without. I would have loved the performance features with the carbon and ceramic brakes, precision pkg - everything else would jack it up close to 150k and I didn't want to pay that much when I thought this vehicle was already overpriced at 100k.
150k yeah they are now way overpriced! When they first came out and you could get almost fully dressed for 112k after all the options and have a MSRP base price of 86k If I remember? 2026 is 101k base price?

Glad I am out of the game! 2022 is my baby forever and glad as shit I ain't paying these prices and taxes too for plates/tags etc. Although, I do get great satisfaction driving my old broken down truck past the neighbors Panamera GT3 parked outside just rotting away...lol First thought comes to mind is she 50% off? You betcha.........he can keep the crap too!

I love the PDR and I don't track my car. Reliving my scenic vacation drives is cool. Going over the embedded telematics is super interesting. The semi-dashcam is good for protection. I made sure my car had the PDR (and HUD) when I ordered it.

Must have:
  1. manual transmission
  2. manual transmission
  3. summit white
  4. satin graphite wheels
  5. no ADM (additional dealer markup)
Must not have:
  1. sun roof
  2. [edit: alcantara steering wheel/shifter]
Nice to have:
  1. carbon fiber trim
  2. carbon fiber seats
  3. CCB (no iron brake dust)
  4. precision package (my other daily is a C6/Z06)
  5. PDR
  6. red calipers, fobs
Regrets (misspelled on purpose):
  • premium floor mats (not as nice as the lloyds I bought for my '14 CTS-V; Cadillac crest instead of V logo -- I think; could have bought after for less than MSRP)
  • cargo net (could have bought after for less than MSRP)
In the end and given the cost a factory order was the only way for me to go. Any mistakes I made were no big deal. Did I spend too much? Absolutely f*cking yes I did.

Dashcam. Insurance fraud prevention and eye-witness in the event of an accident.

Apparently you do have to manually turn it on every time, and it can be configured to automatically record when it's in valet mode.
You can program it to turn on automatically.

I’m very happy with my 22 5BW. Prefer the dash and front end over the 25-26s. Shadow (awesome), 6-spd, CCB, CF backed seats, no sunroof (a must for me), $102K and added OEM CF1 for $5K. Hard to beat and the best part is sitting in the stands watching the rodeo.

Just a side note on dash cams; it's important to consider the plausibility that the presence of dash cam footage can actually work against you when assigning responsibility/liability in a crash. It seems counter-intuitive but there are times that the lack of footage can serve you better than expert witness dissecting the footage and identifying things you could/should have done to avoid the car running the light, crossing into your lane, etc.

My only must have was a manual transmission.

With that said, overall I really like how my car was optioned given I didn't order it myself. My car has the Impact Edition option, so in addition to all the exterior carbon fiber it also has the carbon fiber seat backs. I really love the way the GM carbon pieces look and how it flows from the inside to the outside. My car has the red and black seats, which I think is an exclusive color for the special edition models and I really like it along with the red seat belts. I've seen Impact Editions with the tan and black seats, but since they all come with red seat belts it just looks weird, so the red and black seats were a win for me. I have no sunroof which it seems most of these cars have, so that was another plus. The only things I'm not a fan of from the Impact Edition option are the red mirror caps and stickers they put on the doors. I already bought new GM mirror caps in black and the stickers look easy enough to take off.

I've also read it can be used against you.

If you delete a recording it means you tampered with evidence and it may be a felony.

"If you cause a crash, you should certainly believe that you are going to be sued, and a lawsuit is definitely an official proceeding. And it sounds like your purpose in deleting the footage is to prevent it from being used in that lawsuit. So you'd be clearly guilty under this law. It is a class 6 felony, carrying a sentence of 12-18 months in prison and a fine of $1,000 to $100,000."

It’s probably best to only use a dashcam if you’re less an idiot than the majority of idiots on the road. Ask for an honest opinion from someone who knows you well and has a right sized ego that doesn’t prevent an unbiased assessment.

You don't have to self incriminate. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree not a fan of the dash especially in AZ you will be squinting to see it in the blazing sun! I don't want the sunroof but I have one because they were damn near impossible to get without.....
