For those that ordered the Gloss Black V badging name plates:

1) Does the dealership install these or are these done at the factory?

2) From what I've seen on the configurator, it appears just the CT5 and the V badges are gloss black and the Cadillac emblems front and back are not. Even the little plaques that say Blackwing are not black also? Can someone confirm this?

For those that ordered this option, are you happy with the look?

Thanks!

Curious about the same. I saw a car with a sticker that included black badges but it had regular chrome ones. I dont think I've actually seen a picture of a car with black badges.

I ordered them for mine. The car was delivered with the chrome badges, and the dealership installed the black badges. The V logos and Blackwing logos are all black. Cadillac logo in front and back are the standard ones.

ukcats12,
Did you change the emblems from Savage (front grill and back trunk)? If so, how difficult was that?
Thanks.

I just had my detailer do it when I got the car PPF'd so I didn't do it myself. But I do know the front emblem has like 10 clips that hold it in place. You'll need very small fingers to get behind the grille and push the clips out, especially to do it without breaking them. The back emblem is adhesive, plus two round clips that hold it in place. You need to remove the trunk liner to get at the clips. But if not keeping the chrome badge, some people just used string to remove the adhesive part and then kind of broke the clips off.

I wish I had thought about this before my PPF/ceramic coat.
For what it's worth, I put my two of the black Blackwing badges on after my car got ceramic coated and they've held up perfectly fine over a year later. The badges were delayed in shipping and I couldn't get them to my detailer in time. So they swapped out the badges I did have, ceramic coated the car, and I put the rest on when they arrived.

you make a good point...since I plan on getting the car PPF'd, maybe I should tell the dealer to hold off installing.

My detail/PPF guy put mine on after ceramic. He cutout the "V" template in a piece of PPF scrap using the software plotter thing, overlaid it on the trunk, then cleaned only the area the badge would be, dabbed some stuff on to help the bonding, then installed. That way none of the ceramic was removed where there was no badge 👌🏼

I hand painted the red in the "Blackwing" logo, that was fun (x3 logos)!

I assume your car doesn't have adaptive cruise control? These look like the badges that aren't compatible with adaptive cruise.
If you want to keep the adaptive cruise on the CT4 the best you can do is replace the chrome border and place tint on the badge itself.

Well, they sell a tinted badge for adaptive cruise control but its so dark that it almost blacks out the emblem entirely

I purchased from 404parts the one rated for adaptive cruise control.

It looks and works perfectly. I love it and it toned down the front, IMO. I hated the large chrome outline of the original emblem.

Depending on the light angle, it can appear darker. Here are a couple of different pictures for reference

Hey all — I bought my 5BW used, and it came with all black badging. I’ve already swapped out the front and rear emblems for black ones with a colored center, similar to ukcats12’s setup. Mine's a manual, so now adaptive cruise control.

I’d like to match the side and rear V badges as well (black with colored center), but my car is wrapped, and I’m a little hesitant to pull them off. I’ve removed plenty of badges from paint before, so I’m not new to this — just not sure how safe it is with vinyl wrap underneath.

Has anyone here removed badges from a wrapped car? Any tips or things to watch out for?

Also, does anyone know the correct paint colors for the inside of the V emblem in case I decide to paint instead of remove?

Thanks!
I would have preferred the colored center emblem on the front grill match the rest of my emblems but my car has adaptive cruise so I have to use the dark tinted version.
