I learned from a fellow Corvette Club member (I also own a 427 Lingenfelter convertible Corvette) in my town about this "paid for" driving school (w/the purchase of a new '25 CT5-V Blackwing). Neither my salesman nor anyone at the dealership mentioned this!?
My questions are (after going on SM's website). FYI. I've called there twice with no return calls.
Is it complimentary? All expenses paid? If you decline is the dealership credited for the value (i.e. $ additional profit for selling you the vehicle. Probably makes for a good reason why they don't tell you).
The website "seems" to indicate accommodations and two meals per day are included). Obviously travel expenses to get there are on the participant(s).
So what's the "latest" since I can't get a return call?
Thanks,
Steve.

Yes expenses are covered except for a few meals and your flight/rental car. Not sure why the salesperson wouldn't have told you. I don't believe they get any kickbacks from it, but I can't say for sure. It might just be an off day for them or something. They answered the first time I called. Make sure you have your VIN handy when you call.

My salesperson mentioned to me and I offered back to donate it to him because of his hard work and being an enthusiast himself. I wouldn't be attending despite being complimentary and very beneficial.

Nobody at my dealer knew about the program. I don't think they move many V cars. I had to educate them on the program then they tried to use it as a selling point telling me what a bargain I was getting.

It cost GM $4000 for the 2 day course. I was able to get a room on site. Ask SM if one is available. They are owned by SM members and they will rent it out ( I guess) so SM participants can use it. Mine was very nice. Its very convenient if you can just stay on site. The other hotels are a few miles away. They have complimentary breakfast and lunch in the Club House. They also have/had a pistol range when I was there, that I did not know about until I was leaving. I was also hitting up Las Vegas that is about an hour drive away and brought my 9mm with me. There were hundreds of Vettes there (different school) and only 20 Blackwings. 10 CT4-BW and 10 CT5-BW's. Half were manual and half were automatic. There is a Walmart and other stores nearby for fastfood.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I didn’t buy my BW from a Cadillac Dealer, but if I was interested in attending, can I still attend? Had some other questions, hoping you can kindly answer:

1. Say if I wanted to donate or transfer privilege to my uncle, would that be possible?

2. I heard that there’s a golf course on site, is that true?

3. You mentioned there was a range there, is that on site or off site?

4. You indicated half were manual and half automatic…do you get to choose whether you want to drive the manual or automatic?

5. Can you bring a guest?

Apologies for all the questions lol. Thanks in advance.

If you did not buy it new from a GM dealer, you don't get the SM perk. You must be the first titled owner.

Most of those questions should be directed to SM.

I've been to the school twice with my Corvettes had a chance for a 3rd time. Great time!

The policy is only the owner of the car can attend the idea is for you as an owner of a high performance car to learn how to drive it.

Don't believe that is true never saw ot heard of one.

With Corvette you got to pick. I did a manual with my C7 Z06

Yes you can to watch but not ride with you but usually they can do a ride along with one of the drivers. Also you have to pay a small fee to cover food cost which are free to you (breakfast and lunch)

They had a small putting green at the club house. There is a pool and I heard they expanded the gym. I hope they improved the gift shops supply of Cadillac swag. It was mostly Corvette stuff 2 years ago. I believe the gun range was inside of a trailer and you had to supply all of your own equipment. You need to ask SM if they still offer the gun range. They offer a short ride-a-along for your guest , if you brought one. They can sit in the tower and watch the course.

Wife and I went back at the end of this May, had a great time! The new karting track is AWESOME and now it's supposed to be part of the curriculum, I recommended that and they said, yep, starting next class, it is! The more track time, the better!! Love the food / service at the clubhouse, enjoyed hanging out there. Got to visit with one of the SM owners while there, a nice convo.

GO and have fun! We flew in / out of Vegas, after SM we went to St. George, UT, and used that as our base for visiting Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon, etc. Loved it!

I guess the thread fell down in the rankings, but look for it - there are probably over 1,000 replies. There was even another similar thread that was active recently.

And they all gush at how great an experience it is. Most people's first driver training on a closed course, but it was incredibly awesome - every facet was great.

Thanks for answering all my questions! That sucks how you have to pretty much buy a BW new from Cadillac to get the perk. But I get it, it’s a marketing thing.

Anyone can go on their own dime, but you need to buy a BW for Cadillac to pay. Go if you can!

Not in all cases. My son attended as the student/driver in my place. My grandson and I attended as guests. What a great time we had.

Is the dealer supposed to give something to sign up for it? Like a certificate? Or do I just call them and sign up?

Contact spring mountain directly and have your VIN. Nothing needed from dealer.

Call Spring Mountain. They will take your information and get the approval from GM. Once approved, you will be given dates with openings and cars available. At this point, you need to act fast, as the openings fill quickly. You do not have to drive the model that you purchased. It's on a first come first served basis. As I stated in a previous post, my son went in my place and drove a 4BW automatic, even though I purchased a 5BW 6 speed manual.

Thanks for the info both of you. I gotta figure out what's in the cards for me but I assume there's no real time limit on it so I can wait for next year sometime.
