Received my throttle controller and planning installation on a 2022 5V Blackwing
Did anyone have to remove the pedal assembly to pull the carpet back to get to the connector on the cable ?
I can locate the cable coming out of the back of the pedal assembly but my hands are too big to get under or behind it to find the connector to unplug. And the pedal assembly is preventing me from pulling the carpet back more than a very small amount after removing the carpet retainer on the firewall behind the brake pedal.
Any issues with reinstalling the pedal assembly?
Thanks

10mm bolt holds the pedal on and is super easy to remove and replace. I don’t think you can install it otherwise. Seriously, don’t over think it. Easy simple job on my 22’ 5BW.

I added another on my 22’ GMC truck and didn’t have to remove anything, different design and easy as well.

Works great. Good luck.

Start this video at the 4:00 mark. Even though the install video is on a C8 Corvette, it's the exact same procedure for the 5BW. One thing skipped over if you don't start at the beginning is either waiting 15-minutes for the car to "go to sleep" OR disconnect the battery BEFORE installing. I found disconnecting the battery to be far easier & quicker than waiting for the car to go to sleep.

Disconnecting the battery in the trunk of the 5BW is a piece of cake. Just remember to put something that'll obstruct you from closing the trunk in case you accidentally do so bc then it's a PITA to get the trunk open without power. Also, roll down at least the driver side window for the same reason in case you close the door. You can open the door without power from the inside with the latch but can't from the outside. Ask me how I know all this!

After reconnecting the battery, the relearn process for the 5BW consists only of re-indexing the windows.

Does this clean up how unresponsive the accelerator is too? In my 6MT, I can blip the throttle and sometimes it doesn't even register what I've done with the pedal. I daydream about converting it to a throttle cable lol. The video says it does, but I like to talk to people with real experience. Also, I had a pedal commander but never installed it because I saw some information that detailed if the pedal commander failed you lose all throttle control, there's no bypass in the event of a failure.

Yes, it makes the throttle much more responsive but it also depends on your setting. You set the level of responsiveness that you like.

The Soler is the same as the Pedal Commander (or any aftermarket throttle controller), it is a potential point of failure. In the event of a failure, I guess the fix would be to just remove it.
