I just bought a used 2025 CT4 BW & the window sticker says it comes with a trial subscription.

How long is the trial & how would I get it transferred to me?
How do I get the radio ID that SiriusXM needs in order to activate a subscription?

The dealer is closed till Monday & the sales person seems to be right only half the time so thought I’d ask here.

Thanks

Should have Goolged first.
Tune to channel 0 and it displays the ID.

But I would still like to know how long the trial is.
Thanks

It's normally 3-6 months & is probably expired as normally it's for the new vehicle.

Is there an RPO indicated for that trial? R6P is for a 3-year subscription. Wondering if a trial is the same or different.

The reason I ask is R6P got put on my preliminary order and I don’t want it, but my dealer thinks it’s for the trial. Well, if it’s a trial, then I shouldn’t have to pay $299 for it up front…

You do not pay for the trial. R6P is a pre-paid 3y subscription. You can safely have it removed, use the trial and decide later if you want by a subscription.

I presume the RPO is from a build sheet. How do I get one?

I wasn't sure what Cadillac did because the window sticker lists 8 years OnStar Essentials & 3 years OnStar Premium. IOW maybe Sirius XM was longer than 6 months.

The onstar stuff & a siriusxm trial would be separate things entirely & not really linked.

Per the website....new Cadillacs get 6 months (that's an improvement, it used to be 3). I'd assume that transfers, but only from delivery date, CPO gets 3 months from sale.

The $299 for three years is an option for new factory ordered cars. NOTE: this does NOT transfer to later owners. Only good to the first owner.

Now I need to EDIT this: For the 2025 model year, every new Cadillac comes with a 6-month SiriusXM trial subscription. Now, for the 2026 model year, most Cadillac models get the 3-month trial. Certified pre-owned (CPO) and eligible pre-owned Cadillac models also get a 3-month trial. I also believe Escalades come with 3 years standard.

SiriusXM is currently working in the car & I have no idea whose account is getting charged.

If it's CPO, usually get 3-month trial subscription. If not CPO, more likely than not, the prior owner hasn't transferred their subscription to their new vehicle. If they purchased a new vehicle, they might have a new vehicle trial subscription & they haven't thought to transfer over their old subscription from the 5BW.

If you like SiriusXM (like me), do not pay full price for it. I have had the same $25 annual subscription for the last 5 years. I have it on my C8 Z06 & then play it via BT from my phone in all of my other vehicles & at home on Google Home. When you call them to renew or start a subscription, use whatever coupons or offers you might have been sent in the mail. Use those coupons as a starting point. A few years ago, I was able to negotiate a 6-month trial for $6. I tried to extend that trial but they ended up playing "hardball" with me & wouldn't let me have a better deal than $20 for the year. Since that time, I've been on the $25/yr deal.

When you speak to a rep, they will offer you their "best deal." Tell them you like SiriusXM & would like to keep it but whatever they offer you is "too pricey." If they don't budge, ask to speak to a supervisor & keep on going until you hear something you're willing to live with. I've actually cancelled a couple of times but then was given really good offers to resub so I did.

I was at $3.99 per month which I thought was good compared to other people I spoke with. But $25 per year beats them all.

You can negotiate with SiriusXM using their online chatbot and never have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. It will immediately cut rates if you keep refusing what they offer.

Me too. Lifetime Platinum for $3.99 a month since my V2 was new. Especially irritating with how commercials have crept in. Time to go chat with a bot 😒

Thanks, I'll have to try the chatbot.

I got that rate after I did quit and stated getting offers in the mail but the $3.99 was only for 12 months. Did this for two cars. When the time is up I'll try the charbot.

It totally slipped my mind that the $3.99 recurring was for the NavTraffic service I haven't used since, well, the last factory GPS update DVD came out lol. Nuked that and Lifetime Platinum went to $0.00. Thanks for the tip @shbox. After I stonewalled the bot as you suggested, it connected me to an agent that sorted things out for me.

@sonny200 ......how the hell did you get 2 bucks a month???

I thought mine was a good deal at 4 bucks.

And be careful....last time I called they offered a 6 or 8 buck a month deal "good for at long as you keep it active", no need to ever negotiate again. That deal is "fixed" until they raise prices...huh?

Correction: I just looked at my subscription and it is $3.99 per month x 6 months on auto renew. In my head, I had at $25 (after taxes) for the year but it's only 6 months. Sorry for getting everyone worked up.

This is also just another Promotional rate that expires in mid-September when it'll jump to $25.99/month. Of course, like I've done in the past, I'll get back on the phone with them to renegotiate.
