Order your carbon ceramic rotors by 8/31

Right now Summit Racing has $20 in summit bucks for every $200 spent on AC Delco parts between now and the end of the month. Essentially this is 10% off and makes buying the carbon ceramic rotors even cheaper than when rockauto had them in stock. It has been a VERY long time since rockauto had the rotors in stock and they aren't even showing up in the parts search anymore, so it is possible they may never stock them again. I've never found a price lower on brake parts than rockauto, until now.

Part numbers and price for each rotor are below. I also included part numbers for the front and rear pads, but at least the front pads are not a very attractive price currently. As outlined in another thread, this is the new part number for front pads. GM reformulated them after feedback from spring mountain indicated that the old formulation wasn't holding up as well as expected under heavy track use. The new front pads are roughly twice as expensive as what the old ones were. The rear pads are the same and a similar price to what they've always been.

Since I'm planning on tracking my precision pack car quite a bit and GM says the rotor life on CCB are similar to the irons on track, I figured now would be as good a time as any to pick up a spare set. Everything right now has to be special ordered, so there is estimated about a 6 week lead time.

Yes it is absolutely brutal and unfortunately it’s required to get CCB when you have the precision package. Luckily the front rotors/pads are plug and play swappable dimensionally. A little over half the weight added from doing that would be offset by switching to the lightest weight forged APEX wheels. I’m waiting for someone to have an iron rotor solution for the rears as the CCB use a different caliper and rotor size. I’ll probably start using iron once I can. Adding ~25-30 lbs in unsprung weight isn’t great, but the cost to use ccb isn’t worth it for recreational track days.

First time I have seen 4 different prices for 4 different rotors. Fronts being more expensive than rears makes sense, but interesting to see 4 different numbers. Even moreso with 3 being very close in price and $300+ above the 4th.

Thanks for posting this. Tempting to pick some up, but not sure I'll ever get to needing them, and whoooeeee, those prices! Even after a discount. Does Summit not have a dollar limit for coupons like that? I've never spent enough there to look into that.

I bought all 4 rotors and several sets of pads and got the full 10% off with the scca coupon code. The 12% combined summit bucks won’t show up until I’m actually billed and that won’t occur until the parts ship. Should be able to get at least 2 sets of pads from a rotor. I’ll start weighing them after that. Really hoping for at least 4 given the supposed life the coating adds.
