So I’m seriously looking at new 2025 5BW’s and wonder how different is the ride quality from standard BW vs a Precision Package BW? I selling a couple BMW M cars because I just don’t drive them enough because 1) they are kinda special cars and 2) the usability isn’t great. They are 2 day a month cars to go “special” place and I want a 3-4 day a week car. Still want tons of power and sporty but not so hard edge.
I had a 2021C8 Stingray and it was a great ride and all but not super useable. I’d love to buy a new Z06 but hear the ride is punishing for daily use.
I won’t be tracking whatever I get as I have several track specific cars.
Thanks for help.

Standard BW with mid level seats is fantastic ride. Love my cc brakes too.
Why care about precision package if you're not going to track it?

Because a stiffer and more precise suspension/subframe matters in a car that puts down so much torque to the rear wheels. What has been done in the PP translates to better performance and stability at all times, especially when putting the power down or upgrading to 800, 900, 1000hp+

Just get what you want and call it a day. Precision package and all the extras can really inflate the price and make this a $150,000 car when it's not supposed to be. This is supposed to be an $80,000 car but they have it priced at $100,000 starting. It's up to you, and if you find something reasonable in stock then I would go for it otherwise you can place an order and hang tight and wait for a while.

But he said (talking about his current M cars):
"the usability isn’t great. They are 2 day a month cars to go “special” place and I want a 3-4 day a week car. Still want tons of power and sporty but not so hard edge."
...and also mentioned that he's concerned about daily use w/great ride vs punishing, and that he's not interested in tracking this car (he has others for that).

So in this case, I would not think the Precision package would be appreciated & may even stiffen the ride more than what he wants.

I think he should look into getting the ccb's with colored calipers and then he'd still have an extra ~10k in his pocket... instead of using it for an extra impressive item on a window sticker that likely isn't going to positively impact his day-to-day in the grand scheme of things (based on the information that he shared)

You mustve missed somethig in my reply... the PP is better every where... on the track or simply going to the grocery store. The car simply performs and behaves better under all conditions, especially on power. There is no increase in harshness.

If you can afford it, get it!

I know the changes were to help it perform better (less body roll, more responsive/control, grip/road stickiness,...), but I could have sworn the trade off was that it drove a bit more firm (like M's) too. Mea culpa if I'm wrong.

Haven't driven one, so will take your word if you have... but I'll definitely take my 5bw w/o Precision Package over any M as a more comfortable daily.

With the PP are you saying my groceries in the trunk won’t get tossed all over the place on my drive home. That would be an improvement. 😝
