The Twisted Sisters route above is a MUST drive. I have a thread from nearly a year ago where I whacked a rock and ended up spending $2K on a new front wheel and tire. Take the "Fallen Rock" signs seriously............

If you're coming down 281 all the way from Dallas or from Austin, take this final leg to Fred'burg.

If you're taking I-35 to Austin, be sure to take FM 1431 from Cedar Park to 281 in Marble Falls.
