2026 CT5-V Blackwing
I'm not really a new car guy, but a story caught my eye a few weeks ago about the Blackwings being the last RWD 6spd V8 sedans being made. I started watching YouTube videos and lurking for info here and decided I had to have one. My local dealer had a 4 in stock in black, but I wanted a lighter color (we spend a lot of time in Lake Havasu, AZ). I asked them about ordering a 5, and they wanted $20k just to put the order in without a guaranteed allocation. Originally, I was searching for the lowest optioned, white, 6spd, 5BW I could find. There were a cars scattered all over the country and I started contacting the dealers. One that was about an hour from me kept popping up in search. It was Drift metallic, had CF1 and 2 and the PP. I went to the dealer two weeks ago, fell in love and it followed me home. I have a newish truck for lake trips and boat towing, but build hot rods for a "living' (I'm retired, so it's more of a full time hobby). When we get a 50's or 60's car in the shop it's considered new so it's taking some getting used to all of the things this car can do. My wife has a Mini JCW and Focus ST and took the Ford performance driving school, so I am on the waiting list for Spring Mountain and will attend as her guest (she had a blast doing the Ford school). I did find my car (#812) in the the registry, but am happy to provide any information about it that is useful.

One thing that caught my eye on the window sticker, it was not delivered to the dealer where I purchased it. It shows General Motors LLC, 8333E. 11 Mile Warren MI, 48093 as the dealer. Does anyone know what that means?

Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting to know more about these amazing cars and the people here who love them.

Mini JCW, Ford ST and now a 5 BW. That is a nice stable of fun cars! Congrats on the latest addition.

Thank you, the Mini is my wife's forever car. We just had our first daughter and she was looking at SUVs and mini vans. She saw the Mini and decided she would master the manual. That was definitely a good thing, I was building her a 32 Ford at the time that was supposed to have a 2004R and that got swapped for a Tremec 600. The ST we bought for our daughters. It was the final year and we thought that they would be more engaged as new drivers if they had both hands and both feet working together and not using a phone with a spare hand.

Good call on stick shift for teens. I have taught a few kids how to drive a manual. A couple of them went on to get sticks in their first cars.
