V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2024 CT5 V Blackwing
Hi everyone. I have had my 2024 5 Blackwing since 4/12/2024. Very rarely use anything other than sport mode. Around 6500 miles I started getting a check engine light that’s going to require a muffler replacement. Has anyone else had this problem?

I will see your muffler problem, and raise you an engine blow up (poker terms). The engine in my 22 5BW came apart at around 7500 miles. Sewell Cadilllac of Dallas TX picked up the car, gave me a loaner, installed a brand new engine ( incl starter and battery) and returned my car. Probably cost Cadillac $50G +. Cost me $75 to have the car towed to my house. No further complaint. Suspect a bad batch of parts. Sometimes bad things just happen. (Oil in engine was factory oil. I had not changed the oil)

Hopefully the majority owners vehicles don't mess up with a major engine replacement and if it does, I'm sure many may decide to part ways with the vehicle. If General motors backs you with the warranty claim and you have a good dealer, then that always is helpful. Hope you get yours resolved and figured out, my friend.

I have no complaints. Sewell Cadillac of Dallas has a well deserved reputation for great customer service. The whole event, from engine fail to car return was about 10 days.

Muffler replacement or catalytic converter replacement? What's the code?

There have been a few catalytic converter replacements w/in the forum, mine included. My cat failed due to a faulty spark plug in bank 1.
