2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
Just wanted to let anyone know who bought the blackwing to take cadillac up on the driving academy. That shit was so fun, just finished my two day class today.

You'd be amazed what these cars are capable of and I bet hardly anyone even knows. It really blew my mind, everything that goes on behind the scenes.

They explain everything so well and the driving part is just as fun, youre in the car yourself and basically are allowed to go as fast as you want safely.

Basically youre allowed and even encouraged to beat the ever living piss out of the car just to see what its capable of, and they let you know too if youre slacking off. They tell you to drive harder, faster, youre not on the brakes hard enough ect.

You sit down and go over track recordings with performance data and show you/tell you, places where you hardly even got on the brakes or the gas, and you better give it 100% next time lol.

I got reccomended for the level 2 class, im definitely going back for that, it was a blast.

1000% worth the time and trip!

It’s fun, and the length is just right at 2 days.

If you get sub 1.20 track time youre responsible and they think you can handle it.. you get invited to level 2.

Basic ( everyone gets for free with car )
Level 1 ( come back if you want to have fun again )
Level 2 reccomendations can only come from instructors if they think you're ready to really drive.

Are you sure the level 2 is for the Blackwings and not the Corvettes?

If it is for Blackwings then this must be new. When I went in 2023, Ron Fellows himself showed up at the end and told us if we enjoyed our time and wanted more then to contact Cadillac to create an advanced course.

For the Ron Fellows Corvette course, the school owns the cars themselves and GM provides a discount to the school, but for the V academy, GM provides the cars, and I assume pays the school for the classes.

As of April, 2025 when I was there, we were told by the instructors, that there was no such advanced Cadillac course (level 2), only talk.

Confirmed that there is no Level 2 class for the Blackwings. They have the curriculum ready to go, but no cars. They said if we can get word to Cadillac to give them enough cars to host both classes (Level 1 and 2), they will offer a Level 2 class.

I think they recommend everyone for the next level to get some more money out you. The only ones NOT recommended are the ones that didn't tip their instructors ! LOL !
When I went it didn’t occur to me to tip anyone, and I didn’t. That driving school still sends me an email every month trying to fill additional open spots in the Corvette level 2 classes.

At some point during my classes, it was brought up about tipping the instructors. There were about 15 of us and each put $20 on the podium just before the end of the course. There were about 6 instructors , so each got about $50 per. My Dad taught me that if someone provides good service, takes and brings your order and is very helpful with an issue.....they can get a tip. Owners of businesses are excluded. I'm not happy about when you do take out food and they are expecting a tip.
