Hello gang!

Long time admirer of the 5BW, I'm looking for a pre facelift 6speed electric blue 5BW, with carbon 1 (and 2) packages. I'm missing a manual transmission!!

I've been into Audis / European cars but would love to add another daily driver to the fleet (to compliment my RS6), and 6speed 5BW will fit the bill just right to haul family around w/some fun added. Only other contender is the M3 6speed and that's a bit too on the nose again of what I had recently.

How do I know from the window sticker if the car has base seats or the buckets? Are carbon ceramics a must ?

I'm Looking for a private party deal only to buy of an individual! Any other tips / suggestions are welcome!! Thanks for all the help.

Well if you really want electric blue that would be a 22 or 23. If you plan to track the car a lot, you’ll need a fat wallet for CCBs. I have CCBs and zero track plans and love them. Best part is no brake dust and they look awesome. But since your buying used be careful what the previous owner did with the car.

Keep searching around the country and I'm sure multiple options will pop up so long as you're flexible.

As far as the base seats and the bucket seats, there should be an up charge for the bucket seats and then you can also compare how the different seats look like within those pictures and incomparable vehicles pictures.

I have carbon ceramics in my c8 z06 vehicles but not in my 5 blackwing. It's not a deal breaker but it's always good to have if you're going to appreciate or try to track the vehicle like one of the above posters mentioned.

If you can broaden your horizons and be a little more flexible as far as the exterior color, I'm sure several more options will come up. You're already being flexible and going pre-owned and before the facelift so if you can have a little more flexibility as far as the color, that's going to help you out a lot as well. I think these cars tend to hold value well so definitely compare with a brand new one if by chance you can consider that route.

Good luck with your search and the decision.

Here are the descriptions for the three available seat levels from order guide for the 2022 5BW. am pretty sure these descriptions and codes remained the same thru 2024 MY (and possibly even thru today).

You won't find the RPO codes (AQx and Hxx) on the window sticker but one of the Seat Trim descriptions below should appear on the sticker to indicate which seats the car has.

Time is your friend if you have exacting specs you want to purchase. I did too and still ended up with Electric Blue instead of Wave Metallic, my first choice, and that was over a year of looking. I also ended up with more options then I was looking for.

What you want will come up. Question is do you have the patience to wait it out or will something close pop and "fit the bill"

I have bought and sold many cars using everything from local trade rag to dealerships 1000 miles away and all in between. One to one sales and purchases seem to be slowly disappearing. There was a time when autotrader was probably half or more listings derived from private sellers. Now less then a percent seems to be private.

Good luck and have fun with your search.

Thanks gang for all the help -- looks like yes I'm stuck on 22/23 if I want electric blue. Going to be patient for a bit until something comes up, there were a few through BAT in last 1-1.5 years as well that matched desired spec.

I used to want electric blue. I still do, but I used to too.

I picked up a Summit White '23. Most days I am perfectly happy with it, I actually really like how much of a sleeper it is in white. No one gives it a second look unless they hear the exhaust or know their cars very well. Having said that whenever I see another car drive by in an interesting color I do wonder what if. Good luck on your search!

I keep looking at the black ones as well but something in me wants to stand out rather then blend in with a BW. My RS6 is Ultra Blue as well and I have been loving the more vibrant choices as of late (on my special cars). Will wait out the right spec for now, until I cannot :p:p
