Has CT5-BW production stopped?

It actually takes about a week for each car to go down the line from start to finish. Normally you get a "TPW" or "Target Production Week" - most cars drive off the line on Thursday's.
Yeah, I don't think it takes a week to build a car and they only come off the line on Thursdays? 🤷‍♂️

1100 means its just in the system. Until they get an allocation and your order gets matched, then itll go to 2000 status. Thats how you know you have a build. Usually 30-45 days at that point is when the car gets built.

My honest opinion, place orders at other dealership. Preferably ones with nobody else on their waitlist and doesnt take a deposit. How your dealership is explaining how these orders flow makes me feel like they havent had alot of experience how these BW orders work. Then having 2 others on the wait list with you and feel like they dont have a plan is making me nervous for you. Shotgun blast the orders and see which one gets picked up isnt how this should be done.
Mine sat with the dealer at 1100 for nearly a year before I gave up and went elsewhere. From what I can tell, there is no "normal" timeline- it all depends on the allocations which is dependent on the dealer's volume.

That’s what Claude said too. When I went there they told me no more custom builds were available so I went up to Premier in Carlsbad. The sales rep told me they routinely got BW build allocations so I went with them. I also went up to Beverly Hills but it seemed like they were wanted ADM and I won’t pay that.
Mine came from BH and they had a $20k ADM and another $7k bogus paint protection on top of that. I'm happy I got one at all and happy it was at MSRP with no add ons.

Update: The dealer said that my build has been accepted, but that a bunch of colors (including the coastal blue I was aiming for) are not available. Looks like GM has put a stop on Typhoon metallic and Coast Blue metallic. The Volvo colors (black, white, argent silver metallic, deep space metallic) along with drift metallic and radiant red tintcoat metallic are available. I'm vacillating between drift and silver at this point but am super bummed that my two favorite colors (typhoon and coast blue) are gone. :(

1) deep space is nice!
2) so they said that build was accepted... When did they say you had to have your order in by? (Should be this Monday)

"accepted".......You need to find out what that means. Mine was "accepted" and sat at 1100 until cancelled.

Get the 6 digit/letter order number and have them tell you what status (1100, 2000, etc) your order is.

He said today (Friday) at 6PM. I may go with Argent silver. The deep space looks too much like the metallic grey on my wife's Tesla. That said, I am sad to have missed out on the coast blue. It looks like Typhoon Metallic is also gone.

Sounds promising, but follow @Finally-a-V 's suggestion above.
P.S. I think the deep space is more blue (especially depending on the light). Have you seen it in person?

Picture below is my 26 deep space (foreground) and my 22 shadow metallic (background).

Now that I have seen DSM in the tin, I know I made the right decision.

Keep in mind that being on constraint is different than being discontinued. Just because Coastal or Typhoon are currently on constraint does not mean they will be on constraint next month or even next week. So if you are willing to wait, you they may come off constraint and be available to order. Of course, if the colors have been discontinued then there is no point waiting.

My wife put her order in with the dealer Monday and they just got the allocation today, Drift metallic, PP, auto, loaded. I think they are still going to push them out through the end of the year.
Hey everyone,

I along with two others at my dealership have submitted builds to GM for custom CT5-BW, and they've been in a holding pattern for a few weeks now. My dealer rep is worried that production on that car may have closed, though I had thought that GM would continue producing the current generation cars until at least December. Have you guys heard anything indicating that GM is no longer accepting builds on a blanket basis, or that all remaining build slots may be filled up?

Thanks,

Arka C.

Update: I just visited Cadillac Beverly Hill to look at colors in person. I also inquired as to whether they might be able to get me a Coastal Blue car (or if they had different notes than my other dealer rep). A really good guy there (Taylor) tried to hook me up by telling me about the process and seeing if they could do anything. We checked the constraints list and noticed that Typhoon was on the list but Coast Blue wasn't. He didn't have an allocation to give me though so we ended up just seeing if my dealer in San Diego was doing something wrong or holding something back. So I called the San Diego dealer and worked directly with the build manager. He tried to enter the coastal blue and got this error message. That also checks out with some AI-driven inquiries on the subject. So sadly for me, coast blue isnt going to happen. In the end I went with an argent silver spec, PP, red calipers, grey aniline leather, 6MT, red seat belts. The build is now in (2000) and should be arriving in 6-7 weeks.

Thanks all for your thoughts on this.

Sorry you didn’t get the exact spec, but once it arrives I don’t think you’ll regret it!
I don't think so either, though it didn't help that BH Cadillac had this car in the showroom. I told him I'd buy it if it were a stick, but he told me that it was spoken for - by Aerosmith's drummer (not sure whether it's Joey Kramer or John Douglas). It is such a fabulous color and I'm sad I missed it. Similar stop sales happened to me on options I was pretty set on when I got my Porsche a few years ago. The perils of buying cars nearing the end of their production runs.

If another allocation becomes available.

Therein lies the problem. It seems like allocations will continue to go out through October but who knows how many? And it looks like the color made available for MY26 only are phasing out first while the colors that have made it through most of the car's production run are still available, which may mean that they just have more of those paints available to be sprayed onto chassis coming along the line.

How many and to whom.

Wild they look almost identical in color - sure that is not the case in person. Deep Space Metallic with bronze wheels was my preference if I didnt get Le Monstre

Tell me about it. I went through somewhat similar antics with my ACR. In that case, speccing was really not an option, as most of the builds were already accounted for by a few dealers that had bought up most of the remaining build slots. At least, in *most* cases, by buying at the end of the production run, most of the bugs in the chassis have been worked out! But as is the case so often, production numbers seem to dwindle as the years go on, so that means fewer of the later production cars for 2nd hand buyers to choose from down the road, IE for those of us who could not get our hands on cars we wanted when new.

Nice choice on the specs. Are you opting for Cup2Rs?

Thanks! Been there man. When I was speccing my Porsche they’d stopped a number of options I was dead set on, like CCBs and contrast stitching. In the end I still bought the car and realized I did the right thing. In the following year they raised the price of the car and made the manual transmission option more expensive by making the automatic “standard” and the manual a “no cost option” (before, manual was standard and automatic was a $4000 option). I love that car to pieces so I’m hoping the sting of losing out on the color I really wanted will fade once I get my hands on this monster.

I decided to go with the PS4S, because sometimes it does rain in LA. Plus the PS4Ss on my Porsche seem to have enjoyed decent longevity.
