Has anyone “fixed” the ugly plastic piece below the infotainment screen?

Scanning is a pita. Trying to get the file cleaned up as it's current form will cost an extra $100 to print. Sorry for delays, been working on this in my limited free time while in the office. Once I have a part 3d printed, next step is to send it out to a shop to wrap, confirm quality is good and then hopefully start mass production. This is taking a bit more time but will allow orders to only be backlogged by the shop and their output vs relying on each of you being sent a panel, installed and your core sent back to me in a timely manner

I would, but I have a backlog of projects. While the sparkle finish is cheesy I hate to admit that after one year it’s growing on me. Still annoying at times, but not as bad as my first impression.

You guys are crazy, I'm not changing parts out only to "VOID" my warranty....... 😁
I left the warranty behind a long time ago haha.

I didn't even notice it until you idiots pointed it out , now I have to change it. Thanks alot !
how i met your mother idiots GIF

Dealers are often clueless. Im also not an idiot. I've had a dealer sell me an APR intake and APR tune on a VW and then claim the intake was causing my brake issue. It took a two second conversation to call them out and get the warrantied repair.

So I know I've teased this but seeing as there is strong demand, I'd like to proposed the following:

Since these pieces unfortunately cannot be sourced separately and only come as a part of the screen assembly, there is a high initial cost to have a piece on hand to skin in carbon, unless you are willing to be screenless for a bit of time.

I'd like to try and partner with a local shop that specializes in carbon fiber to more quickly turn these things out since I have a day job and would never be able to do this full time. If there's enough interest, I'd like to get deposits from people to reserve places in line and then basically send you the new carbon panel and have you send back the stock panel to me to be skinned and sent to the next guy. Depending on demand I'd try and source an additional core sample or two to expedite things. I would provide instructions and walkthroughs, these are pretty easy to swap over with a pry tool and screwdriver.

If there's interest for this I would need to know the breakdowns of the 4 options (currently only have cores for the manual 4 and 5 but could try to source the autos if demand is there)

Ct4 manual
Ct4 auto
Ct5 manual
Ct5 auto

These likely would be somewhere around $350 shipped and with a return label to send the old panel back (if I can get more people I could potentially try to lower costs
Manual 4bw here.

I’ll take the grille header too and anything else you cook up.

5 manual interest here
