The 5's exhaust note sounds better. Hands down. 911 Turbo is easily 2-3x the cost of a 4BW, and probably considered a supercar, so I'm not sure that it has anything to do with the other. That supercharged V8 roar and whine though.. If a 6 cylinder turbo is what you want, a 911 Turbo is the one to get.
I just try to be fluid to whatever the situation is. Get the 4BW now, enjoy the car, and enjoy the 2 free days at Spring mountain. When time comes, do it again for the 5BW if you're so inclined.^^^^^^See, my head just hurts from all this. The whole V8 thing is how this started. I've even thought about buying the 4 now, then in two years trade the 4 AND the SUV for a 5.....Even Steven!

True. I'd put the chances of another V8 sc'd sedan with a manual at about... 0%.The supercharged manual V8 is also why I am here. It's the last of a legend.
911 Turbo is now a $200k car depending on options lol. That's a long way from my $62k 4BW and you cannot get a manual in a 911 Turbo. That supercharged V8 roar and whine though.. If a 6 cylinder turbo is what you want, a 911 Turbo is the one to get.
This is true. You need to go back to a 997 gen to get the manual in a turbo.. But even then youre looking at 100k for a 10 year old car... without rear seats.911 Turbo is now a $200k car depending on options lol. That's a long way from my $62k 4BW and you cannot get a manual in a 911 Turbo.
If you take away the 6mts of BOTH Blackwings, other interesting cars come to mind. But if you are like me, and insist on the 6mt, there is a VERY small field of offerings. This is true. also agree.. would have likely kept my 911 turbo if it had a manual. Though the GTS 4 is also interesting..If you take away the 6mts of BOTH Blackwings, other interesting cars come to mind. But if you are like me, and insist on the 6mt, there is a VERY small field of offerings.
I would have ordered a 4 is they had used the right engine. If it had been a LT1/2, it would have been epic.Driving a 4 is not "settling"!!!! You guys just need to drive one, I enjoy my 4 way more than my 5....Ugh!
That would've been nice indeedI would have ordered a 4 is they had used the right engine. If it had been a LT1/2, it would have been epic.
the 991.2's are all turbos as well. If I didn't need a sedan, a manual 991.2 GTS 4 would be top of list. The 992 carrreras are all “turbos” regardless of what the badge out back says. So if you want a new 911 manual turbo you can get one, it just won’t “say” turbo on the back.
I agree. The 5 is a very long car. The 4 is perfect in terms of size. Handles like a dreamSomething about a balanced car just speaks to me. For others, it's settling. For me, it's the only one I see.
Definitely more balanced. But depends on what you are looking for. The 5 is a big car. A nice car but a big car. The 4 just feels perfect. I sit nice and low in it and it feels planted as all Fackkkk at highway speeds. When I drove it home from Madison WI to Chicago on Tuesday I drove between 80-90 mph the whole way home on some great Wisconsin highway road and it reminded me of my dads Z51 C7 w how planted it was. Much more rigid and planted than my ATSV coupe was and extremely similar to my 19 SS.Very well said. Plus I've thought, maybe if I buy a 4, I wouldn't "need" a 5.
I told you Steve, I always think of you when I kick this around!
I agree about that. I actually wonder if the 4 really is the better car? More balanced, more "useable" horsepower.
Careful in Wisconsin. They LOVE giving Illinois drivers tickets.Definitely more balanced. But depends on what you are looking for. The 5 is a big car. A nice car but a big car. My thoughts exactly! If you take away the 6mts of BOTH Blackwings, other interesting cars come to mind. But if you are like me, and insist on the 6mt, there is a VERY small field of offerings.
If I may ask which gen 911 turbo did you have and did you sell it to replace with the BW? I am mulling over selling my 997.2 TTS but may regret it. I have a Golf R daily which I will probably keep. Don't have space for 3 cars.also agree.. would have likely kept my 911 turbo if it had a manual. Though the GTS 4 is also interesting..
but i digress, 'Murica!
