2024 CT5-V Blackwing
I’ve had my 5BW for about a year and am starting to have a very slight rattle coming from the center console when gradually accelerating from a stop. I also recently started hearing a less frequent rattle coming from the driver seatbelt retractor. Neither of these is particularly bothersome since they’re pretty low (and I pay more attention to the V8 symphony most of the time anyway). That said, rattles are something that make me lose my… shirt… over time if it gets loud enough.

My googling found that similar rattles have happened to others, but there are also many folks who say their Blackwing are like bank vaults. That got me wondering just how common these sorts of issues are. Has anyone encountered any quality issues with their Blackwings (leather, interior trim, rattles, etc) as time has gone on? I’m also curious about anyone’s experience with higher mileage cars since I’d love to keep this thing for as long as I can :)

My 5V BW with 30k miles has some annoying noises. My wife commented three weeks ago "for an expensive car it sure sounds like a beater". Ouch.

Locations I've identified:
- passenger door card has persistent high speed squeeks on the highway. Sometimes giving it a firm shove toward the door structure provides temporary relief
- wind noise at the driver A pillar. Sounds like tearing paper above 60 mph
- a squeek/rattle from the shifter boot. I've tried using leather conditioner but that only gave a days relief
- passenger seat back when unoccupied (the carbon fibre seat back)
- HVAC blend doors (I think) cycling constantly. Goes away if I turn off the climate control, but any other setting gives the sound.

None of these are "loud", but all fall in the category of "once you hear it...". I plan on bringing it in for service, but I've never met a service tech / writer who wasn't suffering from partial hearing loss.

My CTV-4 BW has been very quiet with one major exception, an obnoxious squeaking from the carbon fiber seat back. Took it to the local dealer, their fix completely eliminated the squeak. Makes me SMILE!

Funny

I've got no noises of any kind, not even from the carbon backed seats.......nothing.

I have 49k miles on my 5BW and zero noises so far.
Here's me thinking my 24K miles is a lot, very nice @rdollie !

Mine is mostly on the 'bank vault' end of the spectrum although there is an occasional plastic sounding buzz on the highway on my 22. I've seen some past threads indicating it might be the door mirror caps. Mine has black door mirror caps as an option, which are fitted at the dealer as part of the PDI process. It hasn't bothered me enough to open the can of worms to get it fixed.
