I think I do understand but kinda confused. My order was stuck since since August and the only way it moved forward was after removing CF seats and CF1 package. Yet, his order got accepted within 4 weeks and with CF seats?

I reached out to every single one of my customers in advance asking if they would be willing to remove carbon.

As one of his pending customers, I can confirm that he contacted me two months ago asking if I would be willing to remove my CF1/2 and Seat. I really appreciated the contact and also appreciated he did it in a way that gave me time to consider it. Not a last minute email or call that says "if you pull CF I can order it right now!".

Also, your understanding of word constraint pertaining to orders.

Constraint does necessarily mean 0 are made. It means it’s extremely limited production and not readily available. It may be 6 months, it may be 5 total in a month nationwide or it may me zero.

The dealer has no clue when they may be available again for ordering.

For example, for the CT4-V bw, cf is kn constraint, yet there’s been like 6 orders or so nationwide since Jan1, ‘22

His dealer likely skipped over all all other orders that had cf1/2 and it was picked up before the constraint started.

You had a good 40+ orders in front of yours with carbon that you skipped over.

The carbon fiber backed seats are on constraint. There will be some here and there but not much……

You’re also assuming the dealer would call. Most won’t. It takes time to do that. Most won’t do anything until the workbench says it’s not filling any orders otherwise the first order in line that fits is chosen.

I’ve created an excel spreadsheet with more formulas than Similac…. calculating everything in a moments notice to process my orders as efficient a possible all while still be as fair as possible.

Yes. Last week was infrared tint coat.

This week it’s infrared tint coat and satin steel.

This is starting to get a little ridiculous. I think I could go down to my local ppg store and have enough paint mixed to build all those cars and GM cant seem to get paint?

CF-backed seats will be off constraints Q4 2022. Bad news is theres a projected shortage of Semi-Aniline leather around that time. GM knows how badly 5BW owners want these seats, so GM will ship the cars with CF seats bare foam exposed with the leather to be retrofitted at a later date TBD.
