My dipstick never really tells me any information on my CT4VBW. The grooves on it are quite raised, so it seems like as I fill it it doesn't show anything and then eventually will just show max oil, no in between? Just me?

pull it out and clean it thoroughly with brake cleaner. wipe it dry and carefully insert and take it out. mine works fine. Do measure on cold engine after sitting overnight.

I actually thing having both a dipstick and an electric monitor is best. But dipstick is more reliable and avoids a potential oil avenue at the bottom of the oil pan.

I found that after you wipe/reinsert, you need to rotate it. Then you can see a good line all the way around. I have been surprised at how clean the oil stays considering it's DI/turbo. Dirtier oil would make it easier to read.

I do. Its rubbing the metal guage.
