Hi Folks, first time poster...Love the Cadillac's I have had over the years, and the last one I bought in 2023 is still my "every-day" car an awesome red Seville STS. Being an old timer (statistically, but not in spirit lol), I have to say cars look a lot different these days (most of them "shrunk" ;-)), and are certainly much more complicated to use....That said, time for a change and I am loving the CT5 V with one exception, its IIHS safety rating...So I am looking for opinions as to if 2027 updates will at least improve some of the ratings shortfalls?...I'd also like to hear any opinions on what other changes might be coming in the CT5 V 2027 model?...I've watched several videos covering the some of these questions but they are quite divergent in opinions, from major enhancements, to no change at all in 2027...So I figured this would be the best please to find out.

Thanks for the info,
-Joseph

Not going to be a 27. They are redesigning it (likely as a 28 or early 29) on the new alpha 2 (to be shared with a new Camaro and yet to be named Buick). Any details would be pure conjecture unless you truly know somebody on the design team.

I assume you are watching YouTube. That site is 99% AI slop when it comes to car videos now. Since there will not be a 2027 CT5, you can assume any video that talks about one is complete BS. Identifying AI slop needs to be a skill everyone learns. Unfortunately it is getting harder as the tech gets more realistic looking every day.

I'm assuming you mean, i can buy a new 2027 ct5v next year but it will be the same exact design as the 2026 ct5v?

You're in an STS that is likely over 20 years old and worry about the safety of a new technology?

No. This generation is done at the end of this year and no 2027 model is coming. The next gen is slated to be a 2028.

I read that they bumped the Camaro to 2029. I don't know if that means that the Cadillac and Buick will be bumped as well.

I am asking you if they will still produce the CT5V 2026 edition in 2027 so I can buy one?

CT5 is a big upgrade in safety for (me) one of the reasons i might buy it, but anyone who loves their beloved dog knows we set higher standards for them, then ourselves ;-).

No they are not going to produce a 2027 CT5V at all.

You'll need to get a 2026 CT5V (order one soon or buy off a dealership's lot) or you'll need to wait until at least 2028 to get a new one.

I think I will buy one now if I can still ordered it (probably cant get a Red one with a light interior off a lot, dealers like to stock up blacks/white/gray Bodies with dark interiors, perhaps they sell better)...2 years is to long to wait at 70 years old lol, and if i like the one coming out in 2027-8, Ill just trade mine in.

I feel like if they get the assembly line tooling swapped over early enough, they will release it as a 2029, but may be available in late 2028. I'm anxious to see the new gen CT5 body.

Well, i called 2 local dealers who are 50 miles away from each other the said I can not order a CT5V '26 anymore, only the black wing trim...They both also said speculating CT5V mid 2027 orders accepted for 2028 delivery...Sadly my 2003 STS just craped out again, break master cylinder this time so I am not waiting to 2028 and cant get a 2026. I am not a BMW guy and never thought I would buy one but it seems that is where I an heading...The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan is the closet thing i believe to a CT5V as far as performance and feel, has many more interior color options so that is likely what I will buy. If the 2028 CT5 V is awesome i can always trade in the bmw...In researching it I was amazed how many series options BMW has with many more old school cars for power and performance using gasoline, ala the American car industry of decades past, and a lot less EV offers, than what USA car companies are moving to now. GO-figure!

Why don't you look at one on a lot?

There's plenty nationwide:

There are likely many new CT5-V still on the lots across the country. Do a build on the GM website and at the end it show similar cars available at dealers. You can adjust for distance from a zip code. The caveat is that you will see all cars including ones in transit that the dealer may have pre-sold. So it might be a lot of phone calls but you can likely still find something you like.

Like Nordique says, you can get on the Cadillac web site, build one, then see if there's anything near you that would suit you. I worked with 3 dealers from January until May until one of them finally got an allocation to order my CT5-V, but I got just what I wanted by waiting. They're supposed to be building 2026s until December, so you may be able to get what you want if you're patient, but cast a wide net. I'm surprised to hear that they're only accepting orders for Blackwings; wonder if it's just the dealers plumping up their bottom lines? Good luck!

I believe that a salesman by the name of Matt Armand with Sewell Cadillac of Grapevine (Texas) has posted elsewhere that they have (or recently had) allocations available for Blackwings. You may want to look him up and see what their current status availability is. They are a MSRP (no Dealer Ad-ons) Dealer. That's where I bought my 2026 CT5-V BW, great guy and great Dealership!
