I know I'm going to get ripped for this, but the same problem on the L87 6.2L V8 was also apparently corrected after 24. Yes, I know they are different engines. Same suppliers for certain components though?

That being said if you've got warranty coverage just make sure your oil level is always good and use this thread if someone tells you it's an 'isolated incident'

I've not heard of any engine failures though in the 2022-2024 Camaro ZL1.

Anything manufactuered after 2020 is suspect at this point due to the post-COVID supply chain crises. We still haven't fully recovered IMO and the failures happening in the LT4's and the L87's are absolutely connected in one way or another. Given the very low production rate of these cars, I'd also say the failure rate is definitely above average just by looking at this thread as a sample size. Hell, even C&D's test car which they had for 40k miles blew up.

Agree to disagree, there's literally 30-40K of these engines out there in various platforms and we only know of a few failures here on this forum and there have been some in the 2017-2018 Camaro ZL1 because of a known oil pump issue which is also avoidable if the oil pump was replaced under warranty. Those press cars are beat the Hell and back, we don't even know if it had proper maintenance.

I still believe the failure rate is stupendously low for these engines but it appears at least based on this thread that vast majority were 2022-2023 cars. Makes you wonder if there weren't some minor changes in the 24-up cars or if there was a bad batch of engine parts in a small number of cars.

Funny thing is there were less issues in 2022 engines. 2023 seemed like a bad run for engines and constraints on parts.

ZL1s were still mostly the first 2 years, which is weird considering 2016/17 CTSV had no oil pressure issue and theyre the same wet sump engines.

That is interesting, I didn't follow the CTS-Vs at that time, I had always had Camaro's and Corvette's prior to my Blackwing.
