CT5 BW Speed Warning

I just picked up a 2026 Black on Black BW. The issue I have is that the speed warning is on constantly and I cannot find how to disable it. Whenever the speed limit changes the car chimes, flashes the posted speed and turns the radio down….very annoying. I brought it to the dealership and they’re scratching their heads. Has anyone had this issue or know the secret to shut the thing off? …and it’s nothing do with the Teen Section.

The only mentions of a 'speed warning' are in the Teen Driver section.

First place I went and turned everything off! No workie!!! :-(. Dealer did the same thing…

Only thing I can think of is a hard reset. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 15m or better yet overnight.

I discovered that disconnecting the battery will not change the settings.

Not sure if this relates to your situation, but on my 2024 BW5, there is an option via the arrows and thumb wheel on the right side of the steering wheel, to set a speed warning. I have it set to warn me if I exceed 80 mph.

Thanks for your reply, but starting with the 2025 model the dash was reconfigured to a single touch screen. Steering wheel controls were removed and settings are now configured from the touch screen.

In the settings menu, find Traffic Sign Assistant. Turn that off and the annoying speed limit warnings should stop.

Took my 4 in last week for a fluid change and left with a warning that won't shut up. Tried a search here and only came up with little. Tried searching through the manual and failed to find instruction. Can anyone tell me where in settings I can turn it off?

I'm glad it worked. I actually turned mine back on- I kept finding myself going 30+ MPH over and figured it may keep me out of trouble.
