It was believed that the upcoming Cadillac ATS-V would probably debut with some form of the 2013 Cadillac XTS Vsport's twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V-6 which is also used in the 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport. However, Automobile Magazine is hearing rumors that the ATS-V engine could in fact be a twin-turbocharged 3.2L V6 putting out 500+ horsepower!

Given some of the competition coming from Germany, we wouldn't be surprised if Cadillac is going to equip the ATS-V to kick ass and take names. For more details, head on over to Automobile magazine:

Leverage Investment In Ecotech Gen 5 - V8

One alternative product planners should consider is leveraging the latest technology developments of their Ecotech line. This will limit new engine development costs and hence increase speed to market for the right component combination.. Somewhere along the line I feel the new 5.3 L Ecotech would be an excellent fit for the Vsport delivering direct injection, optimum fuel economy on Regular, Active Fuel Management, (cylinder deactivation) and continuously variable valve timing, a combination not found in competitor vehicles. The engine also uses a compact overhead-valve design and weight-saving components such as aluminum blocks and cylinder heads to reduce mass for additional energy savings.

Certified at 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque in the truck application this can easily be tuned up or tuned down as was done with the Gen 4 V-8 found in the Pontiac G8, Holden Commodore and others.

I really dig the rear end's on the curent turbo ats's... If they were a little larger I might consider the ats-v.
