Brand new Blackwing CT5 stolen from the lot, Nashville

115,000? He must have all the carbon! I wonder if the car made it to China yet?

If this was a CF1 car, then there's a little less carbon on that front splitter than there was before based on the speed that the tow truck was moving the angle it had the car on the hook. In fact, in the surveillance video, the thieves stop at one point and lower the hook with the rear of car probably because the front end was dragging on the ground. 😪

This might be the same guy who posted his story on Facebook. The dealer is telling him it’s his problem and he already paid for the car but didn’t take delivery.

Wonder if OnStar could be remotely turned on to help them find the car? Most likely the owner waited forever to get it and then this, wow. 😡

I don’t have FB, but if this was a new car, someone knew it arrived and shame it wasn’t in a more secure location from the dealer.

Also brings up an interesting point, pay attention if you drop off any car to be serviced at a dealer and sign the initial paperwork as it happened a few months ago to a fairly new Escalade in our area being stolen, small print on paperwork stated dealer wouldn’t responsible for a theft. Not sure final outcome.

Was reading that Facebook post earlier. Sounds way too similar. Must be the same thing or the same/similar thieves.

The area that dealer is in is pretty upscale but the dealership is sort of secluded. Same place that ordered and delivered my BW. Good people.
Right now that car is either in a container destined for overseas or the engine and trans is being pulled for another project. This was a well thought out plan. My bet it was accomplished with inside information.

What color was the stolen car?

Man, this hurts my feels seeing this. My guess is this was snatched to be kept as a complete runner for some other country. LT4's are not on every corner, but there is lower hanging fruit to be sure.

My wife and I just had a conversation about the economics that are rooted around crime and theft prevention, enforcement, and punishment. It's a significant part of the economy. It's just an observation, not a conspiracy theory BTW.

This is was the first thing that popped in my head. Guy was asking whats his recourse. Dealer had the car for PPF and was waiting on shipment to get to him iirc.

60 Minutes did a story years ago about cars stolen in the SW that were then immediately driven to the Mexican border crossing. As the thieves made their way to the inspection booth, they would floor the gas and drive straight into Mexico and the US can't chase them and the Mexicans did nothing to pursue (most likely paid off). They showed a new Escalade in th eparking lot of the police station in Guatemala. It still had the Texas plates on it. A high ranking police official comes out and gets into the car and starts to drive away. The reporter stops him and tells him that the Escalade was stolen from Texas. The cop tells the reporter( with an angry look), listen to me MF'r, it is stolen in YOUR country, not mine!
