Blackwings and Watches

The turquoise dial is beautiful in person. Matching thread in the strap adds a nice touch.

I am a watch geek as well. Own about a dozen. My only high end piece piece is this Omega and a Hamilton. Not a huge fan of Rolex as I like dials in the 42-45mm range. There are a couple Grand Seikos that are on my radar to purchase at some point.

I have a couple of Hamilton watches as well... I also love Longines.

Figured I'd join the conversation and share my latest:

I got the Panerai chrono (10 yr old watch I bought used), and said I was done...........but I wasn't. I am pretty sure I am now though :)

This was actually a his & hers 35th anniversary present.

Like the BW itself, I rationalized a dozen ways this made sense. We did not go on a cruise we had planned to do this year. I haven't given the Mrs. any jewelry in forever; I'll reach age 60 and retire next year - what a better way to celebrate than with a gold watch ? Black dial sealed the deal (on both). Typically they're gold on gold on gold and you can't even tell the time. Black looks good though.

I just had the AD service them. Both watches are so old you could say they're Vintage, but look brand new. The new ones have solid gold bracelets, so they're much more expensive now. Both were much less than a new one just for Her.

In honor of Tall Steve's newest addition and because my BW felt neglected with the Moser picture being because of my Camaro.....

I share this photo. Also of the Omega Aqua Terra line

I have a few nice watches myself, a Rolex Sub, a blue Tag professional, a Honda F-1 titanium etc but I find myself wearing this Shinola Runwell Chrono most of the time. It is a tough watch as I am pretty hard on my watches and it's kind of sentimental to me as I was born and raised in Detroit and Shinola is a small family owned watch company based out of Detroit so I like supporting them just because.
