Anyone considered re-gearing the manual, or maybe change rear-end ratio?

What is the rationale for you 6M folks not using 6th at light throttle, typical interstate speeds?
For what its worth, if I'm just cruising on the highway I shift to 6th around 60mph and just leave it. We have lots of traffic around here (not stop and go, but enough where I can't just drop the hammer everywhere).

Obviously 1 of 2 reasons

To ALWAYS be ready to go in case a street race occurs out of the blue.

OR

Because the only prior manual experience is with a 4 cylinder economy car and they have not recalibrated yet for a V8
