Just got a notification in the car that GM 33.00 update is ready. Parked the car in the driveway and plugged in trickle charger on the battery and let it run the install. Failed twice. Not confidence inspiring. Anybody else get it to install correctly and any major changes? Would be nice if Surround View worked on my 6MT.

Wonderful that they have to warn you that everyone will be stuck inside once the update starts. I would have hated to be the poor bastard that found out the hard way.

I'm afraid these are growing pains for the new system in the 25s. When the refreshed XT4 got the new dash / wide screen and system, I was advised by a Cadillac dealer to "wait until the bugs are worked out". The Google system in the current trucks is not exactly reliable either.

May not apply MY 25, but my 22 5BW won’t update unless the parking brake is on.

On my 25BW, it sometimes switches to car play all by itself and keep switching to it even after numerous times of exiting it.

No - this update is only for 25 V's with the Google infotainment system. I imagine it applies to regular model CT5's as well.
I have read the next refresh on the truck lines is dropping the google based system. That will be a very short lived iteration if so. I have been in a Super Duty truck for about 14 months. Decided to try something different. I would go back to my trusted GM as they look so much better, but the damn infotainment systems are infuriating. Very buggy. Everything in my Ford works great, I have not had any issues. Intuitive and reliable. Switching between Android auto and the truck system is seamless. The GM screens are sexier for sure, but I am not a fan of the google system and am very glad my Blackwing does not have that junk.

My guess is that's caused by slight disconnects of your cable (assuming it's plugged in?) Make sure you have a good quality cable in condition. Cables are the cause of most carplay/android auto issues.

its wireless CarPlay on the BW
The wireless CarPlay depends upon the WiFI Hotspot feature in the car and uses WiFi to send data for the image projection. It's possible that connectivity between your phone and the car is flakey - are you keeping it on the charging pad?

I discovered this when I turned off the hotspot feature in my car because I figured it was something I'd never use. Turns out, my wireless car play was disabled with it. I have not been able to turn it back on for several months - the slider in the settings screen and nobody can figure out why. Onstar did a "reset" - nothing. Dealer had no idea and wanted the car for a week to figure it out - I don't have time for that.

I fell back to the cable and decided to wait for an update to see if it would fix it.

yes the data service for the car is activated and the phone is on the charging pad. It's only happened twice but it's iratating as hell. Only way to stop it was to turn the phone off. But get this, the damm phone turned back on by itself. someone weird shit.

Update - I have attempted the update 6 times at various intervals and it consistently fails - booked a service appointment for next week at the dealership. There are a lot of little quirks with the infotainment I would love to see them fix - especially the Surround View functionality. 🤞
