25 CT5 Blackwing - first software update (failed twice) GM 33.00

I received the notification of update last week when I parked in my garage. Went ahead and started the update and got out of the car. Came out next morning and saw message that update was successful. Not sure if it matters, but I have a relatively "newer" produced 2025 CT5-V Blackwing that was delivered to the dealer the last week of May.

Hmm. Maybe I need to connect the car to WiFi and just leave it overnight. Haven’t had a chance as I didn’t want to risk getting stranded over the past week.

If your car pretty much does what you want it to right now, I think the chances of a software update breaking something are higher than the chances that it would add anything cool. I never update the software on anything at all, if I can help it.

I say this as someone who has spent his life developing software.

Unfortunately my WiFi Hot spot is broken (slider refuses to turn on). I don’t care about the hotspot itself but you need it in order for Wireless Car Play to work. They told me the next update would fix it.

You can turn on hotspot in the Wi-Fi section of the myCadillac app.
