Just to close the loop on this thread/question-
Ended up getting XPEL full front/hood/fenders/mirrors and put ZL1Addons Rock Guards on front and rear. Hopefully that will help keep the chips to a minimum.
Took delivery today and then took the really looong way home  Will get more pictures later when lighting situation is better, but here's a few I quick snapped today.
I really like this concept. Well done. It's got my mind spinning now as I get frustrated with the time and "theatrics" needed to get a car lifted and safely held on all four corners in my current garage/driveway situation using ramps, floor jacks, and wheel cribs.
So my understanding, but speedy probably knows waaay better, is that GM vehicles can be ordered "retail sold" and do not show in the public facing system as they are already considered sold.
That was the case for my 1LE at least... it never showed anywhere, even on the Chevy inventory search...
So a week and half after built and waiting transit, Cadillac sends me an email "Congratulations, your car has been built". Better late than never;LOL Or maybe they are just erring on the side of under-promise to maximize chance of perceived over-deliver:unsure:
Then there is the part of me that is like F' it, it's a car and meant to be driven and used as I did the '15 Camaro. Drive it like it came from the factory and the chips are simply natural patina.
But then I think think of how I'm a gonna be sad seeing the first big chips in the front fascia...
Good point on the mid-hood line between PPF and paint. Have a couple acquaintances with the partial and still looks good after a couple years but this is intended to be my long term DD, so maybe worth avoiding possible longer-term frustration along the exposed PPF line.
Long Caddy.. drive past there every day to/from work. Good to hear you got what you wanted, awesome car:happyanim:
<- And love the RRT, you won't be disappointed.
Good input, thanks. Given the square front of the car was leaning towards this plus rockers and the rear quarter in front of tire. From where the '15 Camaro and other cars got most peppered with damage, seems like a reasonable mix of cost vs protection. Thoughts?
Got a 4-V BWing order built and in transit. Trying to understand where the most chip prone areas are to get PPF installed. Not going to do the whole car. This is not a garage queen, but will be my 86 miles/day DD that is fun to drive for next many years to come.
Replaces a '15 Camaro that...
Caddy email silent, but dealership advised car was indeed built this week and VIN issued today (3800). Went and re-submitted to Caddy for email updates. Shame they can't make that work
And caddy online chat bot is basically useless... only conveys top level order status. When I had my 1LE on order, the chevy bot was way more helpful and gave individual order status updates. e.g., 3000 vs 3400.
I thought so too, after getting the first direct email from Cadillac that order was accepted, but been radio silence since. Called dealer and got confirmed 3400 last week. But nothing else/yet from corporate. Shrug. As long as it gets built to my order and I get it delivered, not gonna...
