    Gear grinding

It will also get better with more miles. My 4BW was very notchy into 2nd when I bought it new, and now that it’s got 26k miles on it, it’s much better. Not perfect, mind you, but worlds better.

How many miles on the odometer at pickup?

9 miles when I test drove it. They weren’t going to let me drive it, but I assured them that I would never buy a car I haven’t driven, and I’d find another dealership. In retrospect, I should have given the paint issues that I discovered later…

    Body Shop around Houston?

Had to look that up. Never heard that word before in my life.

    Body Shop around Houston?

I don’t think it’s going to require a new door — I am hopeful anyway

    Body Shop around Houston?

Anyone have experience with a good body shop around the Houston area? Some jackass backed into my driver’s side door the other night while I was parked at a friend’s house. Multiple dents in the door, including one that’s gouged down to bare metal. They just left the scene, and it was too...

    New Mats

Same, that’s why i put the carpeted ones back in. Especially if you wear dress shoes a lot.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

That looks awesome! How do you deal with the shift cap? i was never clear on how it is attached to the shift knob.

Is the CT4V Blackwing fun at legal-ish speeds

The CT4 V BW with a manual transmission is fun at ANY speed, in my opinion. Even lazily driving around town. I love it.

    surprised

Take a REALLY good look at the paint. Mine was so swirled that I had to pay $900 for a two stage paint correction. The dealer will play dumb once it’s off the lot.

    Probably Dumb Questions

I have a 4bw and my trunk has had some issues before as well. It’s annoying.

Blackwing-spec PS4Ss heat cycle out long before wearing out?

I know everyone has been waiting for an update LOL. The AS tires are just fine — i find them quieter (a bit), they still grip really well, and the wet traction is much more confidence inspiring (not surprising). If you track your blackwing, don’t do it!! For me, it’s a great trade off if they...

Blackwing-spec PS4Ss heat cycle out long before wearing out?

Noted. It may be a horrific mistake, but somehow I’ll soldier on. Incidentally, even Richie at Spring Mountain said if you want a quieter tire that still performs very well, the pilot sport all seasons are a great tire. I don’t track my car, so I don’t probably need a track-capable tire...

    Tapout MAF tubes

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated.

Blackwing-spec PS4Ss heat cycle out long before wearing out?

Yep. AS will last 50,000 miles instead of 20,000 miles.

    Tapout MAF tubes

I searched but didn’t find any threads where this was discussed - at least with anyone that has some experience with the install. These have been available for a bit now, surely there is someone who’s done it without the JB4 and can comment?

    Tapout MAF tubes

Is there anyone with a 4BW that has installed JUST the larger MAF tubes from TapOut? Meaning, without a JB4 tuner as well. They mention on their site that some cars get a DTC on cold starts with the larger MAF tubes. Just wondering how prevalent that is. Not sure I want to do the whole tuner...

Blackwing-spec PS4Ss heat cycle out long before wearing out?

21,000 miles on mine w no track use but a lot of spirited driving. Replacing them with pilot sport all seasons this week. I want something quieter and that will last a bit longer as I dd my blackwing.
