I’m aware, I am looking at Gen 2, 2019-2020 which are supposed to have fixed the oil consumption problems. I’m also a Ford senior master tech so I can take care of any repairs and maintenance (and get parts at huge discount).
No performance concerns but a loud clunk/bang over certain bumps is enough for me to be disappointed in a $65,000 car. Couple that with the intermittent AC issue.
Small update if anyone cares. I requested a buyback on the vehicle, my Cadillac case manager felt it met the criteria. I’m waiting...
I tried the local Cadillac and Chevy dealer. Cadillac tried three sets of rear shocks with no change in the noise. I have a customer assistance case open with Cadillac and I’m trying to get them to send out a field service engineer.
I took the right rear sway bar end link off and it felt fine...
Thank you guys for the pictures! Unfortunately looking like that spring angle is normal since all your cars appear to be similar to mine.
Really hoping to not have to pursue a buyback since it’s been in 4+ times and the dealer can’t figure out the noise.
Hey everyone, I have a 2024 4BW that has a clunk from the right rear that I’m trying to diagnose (and help the dealer diagnose it). Would anyone be willing to get a photo of their right rear spring with the car sitting on a flat surface? I’ll post a photo of mine for reference. This would be a...
Sorry I should clarify: Cadillac ordered a spring and end links, but hadn’t installed them yet because they were a couple weeks out. I was frustrated at the service management not taking it seriously so I scheduled with my local Chevy, I used to work with their lead technician and service...
Small update for you guys, still trying to get the noise figured out. Cadillac dealer has put three shocks on it so far with no change. Last one they put on they left the lower bolt loose so I had to return for them to fix that.
Next visit they ordered a right rear spring and both rear end...
Sorry for the long wait between posts. I had two more visits to the dealer, they wanted to order another rear shock and hardware which was on back order. Just got the car back and I can hear the clunk still.
They haven’t been able to duplicate the AC concern, I even showed them pictures of the...
Thanks for the reply. I’m hoping my AC fix is something simple like that. I agree the clunk is infuriating, mine is way louder in sport or track suspension modes, not sure if yours is the same?
I have an appointment next Tuesday so I will update you if I have any positive results!
Car has 9000 miles on it. The dealer actually replaced both rear shocks yesterday, said the noise was gone, and I heard it almost immediately on the way home. New shocks look good, no leaks at all.
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some help here and wondering if other people have run into these issues as well.
My ‘24 4BW has two obnoxious issues the dealer is struggling to diagnose but also doing a terrible job even trying to duplicate the concern. First off, the AC will blow ice cold for a...
Another big recommendation for Dustin at Sewell. He’s the man, and he got this thing shipped from TX to Oregon since zero west coast dealers could get one for me.
Dang ok that’s unfortunate, maybe either it’s just for the 4BWs or it was a different situation with Brian because he was super cool and transparent about everything. I can’t speak to the rest of the dealership since he was the only one I worked with, but that’s scummy regardless.
I want to give a shout-out to Brian at Gold Coast Cadillac in New Jersey. Even though I didn’t end up buying from them (surprise email from Sewell a couple days ago that my order hit 3400 status), Brian was awesome to work with and he was great at communicating, and I think they might still have...
