Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Cadillac South San Francisco. They have one in the showroom (which I test drove) and seem to have decent allocation flow. No one currently waiting according to my sales guy who was ready to put in an order for me 2 weeks ago at MSRP. I think things are shifting on the supply/demand dynamic. They...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

I love the sleeper thing! It's strongly reflected in my car and color choices. What is the goat thing? I've seen a few references and can tell it is an inside joke - presumably about order messiness/delays but I don't have the full story. Is there a thread I can read about it? Searching would...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Is it that bad? The local dealer made it seem like I should be able to get one in 4-5 months for MSRP with no ADM. I have been waiting 18 months and counting for my Lotus Emira and still no confirmed timing so I can be patient.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Thanks to a very generous local CT5V BW owner I was able to get a proper full throttle and rpm range drive of his car and play around with the various modes. I'm glad to report that I'm quite happy with the engine sound in the tour setting - even window down, I didn't really hear any crackles...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Good to know - I never use rev match in the one car that has it and would not plan to in the CT5 either.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Not yet but thanks to a generous local owner, I should get a chance to do so later this coming week. Will report back.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

I am not familiar with Global B - I'm guessing this means ECU tuning? Where can I find more info or speak with a tuner? I have had custom tuning to my 992 Carrera S that came with burbles in the sport setting and an obnoxious cold start routine and both are completely eliminated (+120 hp as well)

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Very easy to completely disable via tune and it is much less than what I am seeing on Youtube videos of CT5V BW driven properly anyway.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

It‘s going to be the ‘last V8 manual sedan that I love’ in my case - basically coming down to CTS5 BW or an F10 M5. The M5 would be used, older, slower, less reliable, etc.. so I’m leaning strongly towards the Cadillac but I do have some picky preferences (most of which the CT5 meets - like a...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

I'm going to try to explain myself one more time and then I'll leave it alone.. I don't have any objections to loud exhaust - in fact I have an F355 with a Tubi exhaust that sounds like a 90s Formula One car, an Aston Martin with a loud rumbling V8 and a GT3 with a 9000 rpm screamer of an...

    Considering CT5V Blackwing...

Thanks for the welcome! I am a pilot too (not professional though - I fly our family around in our C510 Mustang)

    Considering CT5V Blackwing...

Hello - Currently doing research about potentially getting a CT5V Blackwing. I'm a die hard manual guy and currently drive 2 door sports cars because I can get away with it but my kids (3 and 5) are getting bigger and I know the day of needing a four door are not far away. The blackwing being...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

It was a nice time at the car show and I may have a lead on checking out an owner‘s CT5V BW that is broken in. Either way, got to see a lot of cool stuff.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Not trolling but thanks to those who provided useful info. Will continue to try to do some in person evaluation and go from there. I think all I really need is a 5 minute passenger seat ride in someone's car driven spiritedly in tour mode and I will be able to make up my mind. I'm hoping that...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Yep - I generally just find the sound unpleasant but part of it is the fact that it is engineered sound and totally unnecessary for performance. I don't know why all manufacturers have started doing this in the past 10 years or so but I wish they didn't. I have a few high performance cars with...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

I agree... Working on it. And I'm honestly 95% sold... Just need to get through the last 5% There is absolutely nothing else that delivers the performance, amazing engine, manual transmission and practical 4 door sedan form factor out there. Last of an era and I really don't want to miss out.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Well I have watched about 10+ Youtube video reviews of the car and I can hear the burbles and crackling when the reviewers drive these cars (presumably in more aggressive modes) and it still grates on me - it's like nails on a chalkboard. The car sounds amazing as it is accelerating through the...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Ouch… no I’m definitely not an EV guy. I must have a manual, sporty car. I‘m good with loud, it’s just the burbles that bother me. Everything else really is very compelling.

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

I ended up getting a brief test drive in a manual one at another dealer and it definitely seemed nice and burble free in tour mode but the sales guy said that even in tour mode there would likely be some burbles on the overrun at high rpm (which we couldn't test on a car with 7 miles). So I'm...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

I hear you but it seems the crazy seller's market we have had is slowing and the dealer was fine offering a test drive (when they actually had a car) and is still offering a drive in an automatic. The uniqueness of this car (manual sedan with plenty of power and some luxury) is exactly why I...
