I put M/T ET Street s/s on the car and tried it again last night. Night and day difference with traction. I was short on time so only made a couple passes but shaved almost .4 off my time. Air quality (3,124 ft DA) and track temp (133 degrees) were both horrble again.
I know the stock 18" CT4VBW wheel will fit the 5BW as far as hub bore, bolt pattern and offset. Do you know if the 18" wheel will clear brake calipers? My other idea, for now, was the 18" wheel w/ drag slicks and put them on only at the track. It would be really bad to get caught in the rain...
The only tires I'm finding that will fit the factory wheel are MT ET street ss. My end goal is a 15" conversion but I can't find anyone offering one yet. I was considering buying a gen 3 CTS V conversion and adding a dash of "make it fit". Do you guys know of any other options?
Yes, automatic. I got the ecm unlocked and data logged all the runs. I haven't gone back through and checked for SC belt slippage yet. I'm sure heat soak was a factor too. Drove an hour to the track and not much time between runs on a hot sw florida day.
We finally got a rain-free Thursday night to bring my 5 BW to the drag strip. Currently have the Kong X-porting, 103 TB, 2.3 pulley, headers and cat-less X-pipe. Was a ball sweltering night w/ 134 degree track temp when I got there. Made 8 passes and couldn't get it to hook for nothing. Tried...
Thanks for the info, saves me from trying. I reached out to weapon-x, they're working on a 15" conversion. They're out for the C8 so hopefully it's available for the BW soon.
I'm going to be running E85 only so no flex fuel sensor needed, just E85 24/7. I know they can tune it for that but not sure w/ the G99 and a flex fuel kit. Going w/ triple in tank pumps and holley dominator for fueling. LT4 bottom end is good for 1400 crank HP or so they say. The converter...
Agreed. I'm 26k into parts for a build I know will put down 1000whp. Doing the wrenching myself but did get a quote from a top builder for 8k. All said and done I'm figuring to be in the 35k range after calibration and my BW will butt fuck the Hennessey build.
Im looking to fit my BW w/ 15" wheels and drag radials. Does anyone know if there's a 15" conversion kit out there for the rear wheels? I've looked high and low and cannot find anyone who currently makes them. My second choice is 17", has anyone tried to fit a 17" wheel? Thanks
A corvette is not a BW and the ecm calibration is not the same. They're putting more time and effort into the C8 than the BW. I'm getting ready to put together a 1000whp motor for my BW. I've spoke w/ some of the top tuners in the country and they aren't 100% there yet. They're confident they'll...
tuned in stock form or w/ mild upgrades. Throw a big power build in the mix and it's a lot to sort out for a reliable tune. They'll figure it out but it's a work in progress.
They cracked global b but its still in its infancy for legit full blown tuning. Im not an expert on tuning but what im hearing is HP is still revising and changing there stuff so tuning is slow going. Its way more complex than any other ecm theyve encountered. I'm sure the tuners haven't slept...
