Late reply here. As I understood it, the 5BW's at the Cadillac V-Performance Academy were bone-stock, steel-rotor models, and they ran all day long without brake cooling issues. Only adjustments they make there is much shorter duration service intervals, whether oil, brakes, or rubber. Now...
I made it!! Picked up my 23 BW5 last week, 86-285. Manufactured in November and finally made its way to ATX on March 1. I'm ecstatic. Had manual Gen 2 CTS-V's for the previous 14 years. This site has been invaluable, and helped me to survive the goat rodeo.
