Its still very enjoyable, I might need a second income to keep filling it up though. I average 10mpg but I can't think of another vehicle that the term "smiles per gallon" is so apt to excuse the terrible fuel economy.
Idling the car cold to get it up to temp takes forever. It will warm up much faster if you drive it.
Don't redline it cold but going easy on it for 5min should have it pretty close to normal operating temperatures to allow you to start wringing it out if you want to.
Idling a vehicle for long...
Every manual I've ever had could go into each gear parked, with the engine off. It would go in just as easily as if the engine was running.
Yes, I've sat in the garage or the driveway a time or two, held the clutch down and shifted into every gate, rowing 1 through 6 and reverse, I'm weird...
Any weird electrical issues I always go to the battery. I would take it in and have them do a test on it. If that checks out I'd just give it to the dealer to figure out, its under warranty so as long as the issue is reproducible its on them.
Maybe take a video to show them when you drop it off...
I find this to be common on Tremec transmissions when they are cold. I will usually shove it into first twice very deliberately and with force on the first shift of the day before pulling out of the driveway to prevent this and I haven't had an issue since.
I don't think I ever would have kept it long term. The transmission and engine scare me for out of warranty repairs. That said I still have a lot of years left for that warranty coverage and beyond that I really do love it, I just can't see myself keeping it outside of the warranty as a forever...
Well I'm getting back into the rodeo for a 2025 CT5-V Blackwing.
I'm not a big fan of the changes (I like the old front end and a regular gauge cluster) however I really like the new green colour and I would like to order a car without constraints so I can finally get exactly what I want.
I'm...
I may poke around my dealer again to see what the wait lists are like, I really like that new green revealed for 2025 and I could see myself getting back into a 5V Blackwing if I could finally order one without constraints.
I'd really like to do that new Typhoon metallic (green) with natural...
I wish I could find lease deals like that in Canada. Instead I subject my Camaro to the salt because the cheapest lease is a 25k Chevy Trax and it still costs over almost $400 before insurance.
If an Ioniq 6 was even $400 ( Canadian Conversation) I'd probably buy one myself.
I love it because of the LT6. I don't know if it will be a keeper because the long term reliability is always questionable on something like this. The DCT and the LT6 could be problematic long term to make it a forever car. I don't like the idea of getting caught with a 5 figure bill out of...
ZL1 because I can daily anything and its badass. On paper a 4BW makes more sense to daily but if a ZL1 is an option I'd take it everytime for commutes, costco runs etc.
I learned to drive manual on my brand new C7 Z06 nearly 5 years ago and have gone through multiple other high performance manual cars. I've never once had an issue or come close.
These are absolutely cars you can learn on. The gears so are tall in these cars that if you money shifted you...
This might matter on the autobahn but we don't get that here...
GM still tries to make its performance cars have some kind of fuel economy and I can say that putting the Blackwing in 6th still returns a good amount of torque that I never need to downshift on the highway unless I hit a traffic...
