Burning rubber smell (not the good kind)

Unfortunately, no, never figured it out. Happened a couple times this past winter.

My BlackWing has been relieved of its duties...

Sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate there was for you. I was just speaking more broadly to the common chorus of manufacturers that are going ICE free by 20xx. It seems going to an EV is ideally in a lease because the resale of EVs isn't looking so hot. "You'll own nothing and be happy"

My BlackWing has been relieved of its duties...

Just when ICE cars were becoming generally reliable across the board, we start to get pushed into disposable EVs? Doesn't smell good.

    CT5-V engine surge / "porpoising"

Nope, previously was in the garage overnight. Ambient temp in the garage was probably ~50. Ambient temp outside was ~35.

    CT5-V engine surge / "porpoising"

This morning, I actually experienced it going downhill. Oil temp was 160 (not sure what water temp was since I don't have that one displayed). 5th gear, ~1800rpm

    CT5-V engine surge / "porpoising"

That seems extreme, though if it comes to that, Cadillac will probably make an effort to figure it out.

    CT5-V engine surge / "porpoising"

Maybe about 6k miles ago, I bought and installed the Mamo Motorsports larger throttle body. The surging went away. Maybe about 500 miles ago, it started happening again. I figure I'll just deal with it from now on. Last week, I took the car in for an oil change and I considered mentioning the...

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

Congrats! I see you got yours at Heritage. I'm in Illinois, too. My last two cars have been high horsepower rear wheel drive (ISF, now 5BW) cars. I don't have the garage space for a second car for me, so my car has to be a 4 season car. A good set of winter tires is all I've needed. Granted the...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

Tour mode (the default starting setting) is very quiet- and that's still one notch above the quietest setting. I believe the pops and burbles are only on the loudest setting. If you configure my mode, you can customize everything except the engine/shift setting, and you can always be in this...

Newbie question: no crackles/pops on CT5V BW?

You can have no pops or burbles if you want to. There is a completely separate control for the exhaust.

    The Blackwing Spotting Thread

Gave a thumbs up to a white 4BW in the Trader Joe's parking lot. First BW I've seen in the wild.

    Carbon fiber PN database.

Two places I tried just said it was no longer available with no option for the new sku.

What happened to his fourth exhaust tip???

First 1000 mile impressions with the CT5V Blackwing.

For ACC, it can just be made to work at certain speeds per gear. Even only in 6th above 45 would be fine. For remote start, just needs to only work when in neutral. The car already has sensors for the state of the gearbox.

First 1000 mile impressions with the CT5V Blackwing.

I understand why they didn't, but they still could've made it work.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Yeah, they are the OEM ones. Pretty easy to install, as long as you don't mind destroying the old ones. The installation for the front emblem called for removing the entire front number and grille. If you can fit your fingers in the grille holes behind the front emblem, you don't have to remove...

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Wasn't me. I've yet to see another BW in the wild.
