I don't disagree with you, SM if a blast regardless of what transmission one drives. I only buy manuals but I agree that an auto wouldn't detract from the experience. I'm just making the point that shifting the manual required almost zero cognitive bandwidth given how few gears were needed and...
Although I drove a manual transmission at Spring Mountain, I recall the instructors telling the automatic transmission drivers that they were going to be doing all the track sessions in manual mode. Is that no longer the case? Seemed harder for them, actually, since they had more gears to...
Not sure where to post this, but...

Bad news for GM. The new guy is a grifter who somehow gets in the door and manages to hang on just long enough to make his resume look good for the next con. He'll also bring a lot of low quality...
Well shit, I bought my 5BW from Jim Ellis, and have continued to have it serviced there. Fine so far, for me, but haven't had anything major done. No experience at other Cadillac dealers, this is the first Cadillac I've ever owned--first GM actually!
What happened with your service...
That was a good thread, but didn't we ultimately find that the math was somewhat flawed? Idle Hours were subtracted off of total hours, but revs while idling weren't subtracted off of total revs. Such that a lot of time idling would make it look like you revved your car more! Might not make a...
I don't disagree in general. I guess I don't weigh those factors as heavily. The ride isn't as fun if you add too many people. As for planning, the roads are so good in that part of the country you can just get lost and have a great time on some great roads--probably even *more* fun off the...
No experience with them but.....
Why not just go for a drive in that area on your own?
I took a look at the rough itinerary.

Any rally that goes through Gatlinburg, much less actually stays the night there, is a hard NO from me. Why go on a...
Yes, the Lexus V8 is fantastic. However, mild disagreement on one point: The automatic in the Lexus does not rise to the level of "middling". I would describe it as "below average" at best, especially for a car in this class. If you only drove the Lexus as a luxury car, maybe that's fine...
Just got mine as well, also the Medium/Large. Fits me perfectly, and I think I'm a 7 5/8" hat size.
Love the authenticity. Fit and finish on par with other GM products. ;) Okay, I'm being snarky. In all seriousness, it's a very nice cap. I trimmed the loose thread, no harm done. But...
I'm in a similar position, I could look later this week (if the car is still there). Buckhead is a bit of a pain in the ass to get to from OTP (outside the perimeter).
I'm not in that camp, but I can see both sides. Not an either/or question. I certainly do use 6th in that situation. But I also recognize the gearing and find myself using 5th at times when I'd more or less automatically be in 6th in other cars. Just depends on what the car needs.
Don't you guys think it's more likely that GM is avoiding what we saw a few years ago where the CT5-V Blackwing completely overshadowed the CT4-V Blackwing when both were introduced at the same time? The 4 never got the full credit it deserved, always being compared to its big brother...
My salesman tried to tell me that my car was #86 of 328 when I bought it, he was telling me how cool that was. I had to tell him, no, I don't think that means what you think it does!
Agree about the front looking not as good. Saw the PRNDM display, confusing. Not a fan of the new style screens, although I hear some people like them. All in all, happy to have a pre-2025 5BW.
I just bought a GR Corolla (2024 "Premium"), and I think it's a fantastic car, just a blast to drive. Love how "real world fast" this car is. Not brutally powerful (especially after getting out of the 5BW), but quick enough to do anything I want to do on the road. Great handling. Puts a...
