I run ceramic pads on my performance cars to eliminate brake dust for street driving. A good set of ceramic pads will eliminate brake dust by 80 to 90 percent because it sucks driving 10 miles and the wheels get filthy. Ive never had an issue with iron rotor and ceramic pads.

Thanks for suggesting ceramic coating…didn’t know why I didn’t think about that from the beginning. Also, as much as I like the OEM brake system on the 4BW, I’m leaning towards getting the GiroDisc 2 for rotors and the Ferodo DS2500 for pads. Worth giving it a shot just to see how it compares...

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

I haven't really posted but been looking for posts on 5BW CCB posts and replacement pads for track. Long story short my issues are: 4600 Miles Factory ceramic pads – not yet replaced Pads have about ¼ of life left Tracked twice at CoTA – about 200 miles Second tracking event put Cup2’s so got...

    Brake pad install questions

Getting ready to do pads. Never changed pads on Brembo's but it looks simple enough though. What are some do's and don'ts for this car? Just looking for any gotchas that can be avoided. Thanks

As others have mentioned the OEM rotors and pads sound like they suit your needs other than the brake dust, and it’s questionable if a replacement pad that fills your need has more or less dust. Have you considered ceramic coating your wheels instead, making them easier to clean? The OEM pads...

    Carbon ceramics and brake bedding

The brake burnishing process for both setups is hard to do legally on the street. After struggling with it (found myself out at 1A on a local highway paranoid a cop was going to think I was drunk), I found the 'power lunch hour' HPDE event was perfect - just hit the track like normal and the...

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

Carbotech pads are great. They make all kinds of variations too. I used them on an Alcon big brake kit that I put on a B6 S4 I had.

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Changed the brake pads. Cleaned the calipers and wheels while in there. Really easy job.

EPB Clunk After Brake pad/rotor replacement

Has anyone who has done a complete brake job with rotor and pad replacements experienced a clunking sound coming from the rear brakes after? I think it’s due to the EPB and it needing to be calibrated after to ensure it stays tight to the new rotor surface, but wanted to see if anyone else has...

...price. Personally, I wouldn't switch to carbon ceramic rotors on a car that wasn't originally equipped with them. Nor would I use ceramic brake pads in a high performance vehicle application. But, that's just me. As others have stated, get with Ken and he'll let you know what all of your...

    CT4-V Brake Question

Yeah, they told me the front brake pads are being worn down. I am going to get them looked at another tire shop though to get a second opinion. No track days and honestly none necessarily planned, but I do go on canyon runs with friends and have many moments hitting above triple digits on the...

...nearly as "authentic" race inspired watches as Lorige (and BTW, these have one digit less on the price tag). The cases are individually made from used carbon brake pads, acquired from hypercars after running in races. Crazy. I hope to get a close look at this brand at Daytona in the coming...

CT5-V Installed aftermarket carbon ceramic brakes on 5BW, pictures and impressions

...sees track use. The front and rear pads say: ICAR TRACK DK400 - 2025/8/26 (I assume this is the date of manufacture) I Googled for "DK400 brake pads", and came up with stuff about an e-bike, and a 1950s Daimler; when I added "icar" to the search, I got one hit for ICAR DK400 brake pads for a...

Looking for brake pad recommendations for track driving

It's just about time to change out the brake pads on my CT4-V BW for some track driving. Does anyone have any recommendations on good performing track brake pads that are still decent on the road. (ideally better than stock) Also open to Tire recommendations as well.

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

Brakes: I had a bunch of track days on my 5BW & replaced the brake pads at 25k miles. KNS Brakes has many brake pad options for both front & rear. I recommend talking to them for your needs. (Disclaimer: I have no financial ties to KNS brakes other than giving them my $ for many brake parts over...

    2026 HPDE Season Kickoff

Stock. I haven't had ANY problems with the brakes so far, and I have inspected everything after each HPDE when I swap back to my street wheels/tires. On the contrary, when I bought my car, it had a pretty bad shudder in what I think was the rear rotors. After my first track weekend with the...

Also going from considering Redstuff/OEM to XP12 is quite a jump. Those pads aren't even in the same realm. What moved you to go that route?

Yes. I remember arguing with you about this for days on end, with you insisting you knew better than I did about said topic. :) Glad you've seen the light.

CT5-V Catalytic Converter and Brake work

I just received front and back Carbotech 1521 low-dust brake pads. The pads come with the slot for the wear sensors. I have them going on June 4th. I'll let you know how that goes. So far I've been very impressed with the company. I ordered the pads off the Carbotech website. Got a call...
