Looking at my alignment sheet, the before (i.e. factory specs with the stock arms), the rear camber was -0.7 and -1.1. If you change to the V8V arms, that increases camber by 0.4 so you could be at around -1.1 (possibly less). I would call that “aggressive street”, but no where near enough to...
They are fairly easy to install but a shop would charge you an hour to do it and you will need an alignment after each swap. So it would be several hundred $ each time in addition to the hassle. Just swap once. They should be able to dial in a street camber settling even with the V8V arms.
Tread depth is important for evacuation of water. So it depends on if you plan on taking your car out in more than just a damp surface. If so, then 3/32” is a bit on the marginal side.
This article explains tread depth. Note that it is from a website whose main purpose is to sell tires so...
After you mentioned it, I asked my wife (who did graphic design) about it. She agreed with the assessment. She compared the 2 different brown rear seats. In the first pic, the seats are brown with gray inserts and have a black bar separating them. In the second pic, the black on the right and...
I always regretted passing on an E36 BMW M3 in Techno Violet back in the 2000s. So the purple is really speaking to me. But all of the builds you put together are one of a kind and would be awesome.
Thanks for that info. I never knew that it was off-gassing that was being accomplished by the burnishing process. Makes sense as higher temps will causes trapped gas to expand and be released.
I did the same as you for burnishing. I used my first track session to complete the process and had...
Refer to page 3 of the attachment for GM’s track alignment recommendation. They do not recommend toe out. I personally have run toe out and find it very good for autocross as it increase the car’s willingness to turn into a corner. But I find it less desirable on track (and on the highway) as...
The little pictures on the alignment sheet do not change based on toe in or toe out. They are just there to illustrate the concept of toe. Positive is toe in and negative is toe out.
0.1* of toe for our cars (assume stock wheels size) is about 0.0925”. So total toe in is about 0.185” which is...
I did my CCB burnishing during the first session I had on track. That was after about 3k street miles. No real way to effectively do the burnishing in the real world without the possibility of getting in some trouble.
You should post this in the General Blackwing forum. It gets a lot more traffic. With winter coming up, I am sure someone will take you up on your offer.
if you prefer the pre-facelift version, this one is similar to your old one but with black interior and no sunroof or PDR.
