I'm driving a 4BW. I did my first 5 track days without adding the kit and now leave it on, although I don't do a lot of street miles. It's not just adding the air deflector, but also removing a plate that protects from debris getting up into the brakes.

I have nothing real to base this on, but I believe as you get closer to the one year mark and your opportunity expiring, somehow you start getting priority status

I looked into carbon fiber driveshafts, but was also very surprised by the minimal weight reduction. Changing from OEM to a one piece aluminum only saves 1.5lb. Changing to carbon fiber only saves 3lbs. I was also expecting something like a 10lb reduction and probably would have gone for it...

My vote is to go new. Get each detail exactly as you want.(don't forget the PDR) Get the full warranty time(could be 12-18 months of time expired off the 36 month bumper to bumper already) Get the Spring Mountain trip.(That's worth $3,500) $10K is not enough to give all this up!

Forged aluminum is 50% heavier than forged magnesium. Stated the other way, forged magnesium is 33% lighter than forged aluminum. Our 28lb OEM forged aluminum wheels should save about 9 lbs per wheel when made of magnesium. Combine that with carbon ceramic brakes and we are at 20lbs/wheel...

That lack of snow mentioned in Colorado will mean water shortages next summer. We here in the east have been having some semblance of a good old fashioned New England winter.

4BW owner here. From my trip down the rabbit hole of exhausts, the raspy sound comes from the lack of cats, or using less than 400 cell cats. With the 4BW cars, the raspy tone was resolved by a crossover tube. I'd recommend the ARH headers and their cat back system using 400 cell cats.
