    Gear grinding

That sounds like the best bet! It definitely loosens up once the car is warm. I never even thought about just skipping to third. I mean I’m only in second for less than a minute after leaving my home anyhow. Thanks for the tip!

    Gear grinding

No it doesn’t grind per se. But definitely takes force. All of the other gears never require that kind of force. I’ve googled it and I guess it’s pretty common, so I’ll stop worrying unless it actually becomes a problem.

    Gear grinding

That must be it then. It is definitely getting colder up here in the mountains. How do you handle it? I don’t feel great about feeling like I’m forcing it. Does idling for a minute and doing some shifting in place help?

    Gear grinding

Yo folks. I’m a little over 8k miles and my gears are really sticky going from 1st to 2nd before the car gets warmed up. Just curious if anyone else is having an issue like that. I don’t want to have to bring it in to the dealership if I can help it, but sometimes its really hard getting into...

From the Santa Cruz Highway Patrol page

That’s rough! I got my first ticket in ten years just a couple weeks ago. I was cruising up I-80 just past the speed traps East of Auburn, and this Explorer cuts me off by getting in the fast lane going 55mph. So frustrated, as soon as I could pass him I did so and punched it… well, it was a...

This is with the sub added mind you. Without, I had the bass turned up higher.

    2025 CT5 BW - AKG Settings

there is a thread where a guy shows step by step how he built an enclosure for a subwoofer for that extra space on the rear side of the trunk, and another where a guy shows how he built one replacing the floor of the trunk (similar to mine). How easy any of it is depends on your expertise...

    2025 CT5 BW - AKG Settings

My guess is that because the Caddy has 16 speakers, that they’re all pretty small except for the 6x9s. So the amplifier used to push them is likely not very powerful. The reason many people have found that fading the sound slightly to the rear of the car sounds better is probably because it...

Savage Cadillac just released door puddle lights (not mirror)

How did those turn out? If they’re as good as they look in the Amazon video ad, I’m buying them immediately.

    2025 CT5 BW - AKG Settings

I found the solution. Add an aftermarket subwoofer in the trunk. 😂😎 I just picked my car up from the Mo Music in Reno and just the one sub made a huge difference. (He was able to replace the “spare tire” foam insert and flooring cover with a custom floor box set up that didn’t require any...

Squeaking from unit above rear view

I hadn’t thought of doing that. I’m pretty easy on my baby man. I might give that a shot though before pulling the whole unit off.

Squeaking from unit above rear view

it seems like a simple fix. I’ll just remove the unit, put some foam along the edges and put it back on. I’m only concerned that it’ll affect the warranty if it doesn’t work or it gets worse and I have to take it in.

Squeaking from unit above rear view

Fair point. I hadn’t thought of that.

Squeaking from unit above rear view

Noticed a squeaking coming from the unit above the rearview while on my way down to Parumph a few weeks back. The squeaking stops if I put my hand on it. You guys think this is something I can/should take it in to the dealership for, or something I should just fix myself?

Did you do or are doing V academy

Day two I’m sending it. Timidity gone and I’m driving it like I would my own car. Man it’s such a difference…. It’s made today SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun.

Did you do or are doing V academy

Well, after the first day I’m a bit ashamed. I don’t know why, but I was so much more timid than when I’m driving my own car on the mountain roads. maybe because I’m a bit intimidated by being on an actual racetrack, or maybe it’s because I feel the pressure of being judged, or because I’m...

    Auto vs. Manual

Manual because I want to feel like I’m actually driving the car, not like the car drives itself while I just steer. Having driven automatic for such a long time prior to buying this Caddy, doing so is just boring to me. I haven’t had this much fun driving since I was in my 20s and was driving a...

Did you do or are doing V academy

Anybody gonna be there this Sunday through Tuesday? I’ll be checking in sometime in the late afternoon. I hope I’m. It the only one bringing their beauty with them. Oh, and I’m bringing my wife too. 🤣
