EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

You can piss on the charger door too. Again, inability to improvise means they shouldn't be driving. Stay off the road.

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

100% correct. The app tells you the availability of nearby chargers real-time and the charger plug door frozen can be cleared with a cup of lukewarm water. Again, dumb people who can't solve their way out of a wet paper bag.

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Funny that local Chicago affiliate is ABC which is owned by Disney. Bob Iger and Elon don't exactly get along. It's a hit piece. Any person who waits until their battery is at 5% or less to go find charging in sub zero temps deserves exactly what they get. Anyone with a brain doesn't have...

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

90% of the Supra is BMW. Suspension, chassis, engine, ZF transmission, etc.

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

The only sports car Toyota currently makes is a Toyota Corolla GR which I owned and even that is a bit of a stretch as it's AWD, but it does have some cool motorsport bits (the 3 cylinder turbo is an awesome engine). The Supra is mostly BMW, the BRZ/86 is mostly Subaru (I have one of those too...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Wife's '23 Model Y LR has been awesome so far. 11k miles with zero issues (besides a error code glitch at the beginning the service center resolved in 20 minutes). Charge at home a few times a week and just drive it. It's a great complement for our family to haul our kids around and just run...

    Spring mountain- experienced racers?

I think they required us to stay in 'sport' for the TPM mode. If it were my car on track, I'd do Race 1 or Race 2. Turns off stability and give you the precise traction management out of corners under throttle. That said, just play with the settings. Goes without saying, make sure you get...

What made you choose a Blackwing and what else did you consider?

I love the IS500 engine, but the rest of the car is archaic including the interior. Also, no engine oil cooler at all is a strong indication this is an around town cruiser and that's it. You track it or drive it aggressively for more than a few minutes and the car won't hold up. But, if you...

    Spring mountain- experienced racers?

As Andi mentioned above, it can be a blast even if you're experienced as the instructors can and will separate you into a sub-group and let you push the cars. The instructors like to have fun too and going 6/10ths in front of most students can get boring for them. On the other hand, having...

CT5-V Red pill or blue pill?

They need to get your trade number up. They are ripping you off. Upper 80's at least IMHO.

    CT5-V 5BW v. 4BW

If my 5BW didn't come with a six-speed manual, I wouldn't have bought it. Period. As nice as the chassis, suspension, brakes, etc. are, if I needed an automatic luxury sports sedan, I'd have seriously considered an M5, E63, RS7/8, etc. before the 5BW.

    CT5-V 5BW v. 4BW

Not to go too far on a tangent, but the '24 Corolla GR Premium is a lot of fun for a weekend/evening toy car. I have a 2 year old boy and 5 year old boy and they fit in the back okay and I have enough room for wife and me in the front (I'm 6'1") to be comfy. Only 200 miles on it, but the...

    CT5-V 5BW v. 4BW

I've had a 5BW six-speed for over 2 years and absolutely love it. Just got back from a 1,300 mile rally and there was nothing else that could hang over bumpy back mountain roads through CO, AZ, and UT due to the incredible compliance and control of the mag suspension and big torque out of...

The feel of driving my CT4-V Blackwing

So, I smoked the instructor's reference lap time at a V Performance Lab event at COTA in an ATS-V 5 years ago through the autocross. They said that was the first time that happened. (gotta brag a little sometimes, haha) Also, got to flog the 3rd gen CTS-V on the big track. I did actually like...

Still loving it after 2 years!

9,500 miles, perfect, and still a complete joy to drive every time I get behind the wheel. She's a keeper!
