Not a fan of most new BMWs, but I'm curious to know why?
I had an AP1 also; curious why you liked the 1 so much more than the AP2? Difference in redline, suspension tuning, something else?
2000-2013: '98 Integra LS, heavily modded for autocross
2009-2015: '01 M5
2013-2016: '02 S2000
2016-2020: '11 M3 sedan
2018-present: '07 Elise
2021-2022: '20 Civic Type R
2023-forever: '23 CT5-V Blackwing
All manuals. As you can tell, I'm a big fan of light, quick-enough RWD sports cars and...
Hah, I just got mine after 8.5 months (about the time it takes to bring a human baby to term). Goes along with my Lotus Elise's FLYW8 - different cars, different strengths.
Totally agree with all of this. Jason Cammisa gets an auto-click. Thomas and James are fantastic. Savagegeese also great in a different way. Other than Chris Harris, not much else.
Agreed. Funny enough, I placed an order with Sewell in December 2021 and with South San Francisco I think a couple months later. Got my Sewell car January 2023 and still waiting on the SSF one...
That could perhaps be grounds for false advertising, as judging by '22 production numbers they make closer to ~1,000/year, so Barrett-Jackson claimed it's rarer than it is (if anyone should know about the value of rarity, it's them).
Also, funny that I have the 2023 86/322, so the car that came...
I had liked early spy shots of the nose, but up close and especially from the sides, the headlights are very vertical - almost reminds me of a GMC truck/SUV. Agree the black lines on the BW bumper are a bit weird and unnecessary. Same with the screen - I had generally liked it and it definitely...
I have 8K miles daily mine with the standard lip and have zero scrapes. I've scraped the underbody panel, yes, but not the lip. Go slow and at an angle on steep drives and it's not that bad. The front overhang is pretty short, which helps.
That's one thing that rang so true at the end of this video:
Yesterday I dropped a couple of gears to pass a dawdling left-lane Prius and - whoops - there's 103mph before I even passed him. Satisfying yet also a bit alarming.
Formerly my favorite car I had owned, which I wanted to emulate in...
I like mine a lot, but I do still get jeans transfer even with Colourlock and another highly regarded product I tried before that. I just clean it with leather cleaner every couple of months (really just the driver's seat bottom).
Honestly really, really satisfied with my combo of 5BW and Lotus Elise. Can't think of a better 2-car combo for me, and likely won't even try for many years. I don't think anything will be made in my price level that will make me happier.
I liked sunroofs... until I got a converible. Now a sunroof is like 20% of that experience, but comes with cost, complexity, and weight in the wrong spot. I like a nice pano roof in an SUV (never notice it in my wife's Merc C-class) but for a performance car give me a slick top any day.
I've been using KBB.com. Private party value is still $2k over my '23 MSRP with 7,500 miles. Seems a bit optimistic but long story short, it peaked at $6-7k over so hasn't come down a ton in its first year.
I bought my 5BW brand new from Sewell, had it shipped to Silicon Valley, and had to smog it before I could get my permanent registration. Completely stupid and a waste of resources.
It's frustrating how long it takes people's brand perceptions to change. My mom is 75 and still drives a manual Cayman, yet cannot make herself like my Blackwing because it's an American Cadillac (granted she hasn't seen or ridden in it). And as much as I want to get my wife an Ioniq 5 or...
